Squad preps were a thing many many moons ago. I think they had their fair share of problems too from what I’ve read on forums. Although it was before my time so I can’t comment first hand.
We did this for years. It rapidly became the case of the SL just vending everything onto the floor and moving on with his day because it takes a particular type of person to enjoy customer service.
What was so bad about that?
Pure utter chaos.
Because its what we have, just less organized and more pointless effort.
I suppose a minor complaint would be Veteran McMeta and his gang taking literally everything for themselves, but that falls on the SL
Either way at that point we could have a completely automated vendor, at the req line.
Two lines:
- SOUTH LINE is an automated vendor of all the usual roundstart Req requests - but there’s an item limit per person
- NORTH line is the usual line but it’s manned, for more specialized requests + going above the item limit
bro why did you say that sarcastically that shit sounds awesome, let’s do that
If im honest, req needs ANYTHING to do at all other than fuck up a crate or have the round griefed by some guy buying 500 pizzas roundstart then disconnecting in his alt.
I play req, do the crates, send fob and prep frontline, send spares and that’s about as all as you ever need to do. If the marines flop or win its irrelevant of how good you are doing as the only way you can affect the round is via incompetence, in which case the marines will flop and you’ll get burnt in a pyre. (justified)
Do your job good? Then its entirely off your hands how the rest of the round goes, you cant add your part anymore other than checking in regularly with the specs or SLs like a budget spam call center in case they wish for a single grenade or something.
Do your job bad? Front collapses, FOB doesnt hold, everyone mad, nobody is happy… or the queen walks into the sadar and the round ends anyways.
So tldr give me something to do please I’m going insane, the ASRS calls me like the green goblin mask, it wants me to jump in and die.
Because, the current system is overall better and doesn’t lead to each squad just dumping their attachments onto the floor. XD
Adding in a tedious task doesn’t make a situation better.
I’ve changed my mind, i know the only thing that will save req that we should port over to CM from TGMC and absolutely nothing else.
Pizza factory.
This is my thesis. I am not taking questions or revision requests at this time, thank you.
Also this might be my favorite copypasta. Cheers to you for this one.
As someone has played sooooooo much fucking req, just give me the ability to watch the fob without needing to harrass engineering all the time. Ever since we lost portable comms it’s a toss up if i ever get good intel about what marines need at any given moment as a QM.
Also, bring back RO, I’ve dealt with officers that don’t get what they want and order my arrest as QM since they can use officer ordered arrests to try and strong arm req into getting stuff they shouldn’t have.
That should not be a thing. Clown those fools.
I did, I tossed the black market scanner down ASRS instead of handing it over to the CE who was threating me with MP action if they didnt get it.
Cargo is a whole lot better when I’m not being crammed on the line delivering motion detectors and attachments.
It’s also a whole lot better when I’m not just ordering the entire budget worth of materials and am actually being creative instead of risking a role ban by not doing that. The budget should probably just start at 3000, and you have more materials at round start.
