Rules around "Farming" Greenos?

Greenos betraying is not a bad thing whatsoever. They aren’t pets, they aren’t domestic dogs, the queen is an intelligent, unempathetic, and aggressive risk created by the research dept. It’s lrp to turn them into dogs if they submit and lrp to say they would be immediately aggressive, instead of manipulating and tenacious. It would actively ruin the RP of the corrupted hive, which is the primary incentive in the first place. Appease the queen and she will help you, but if you look weak and incompetent she will try her best to get what she wants of course, and she wants the expansion and security of the hive.

Realistically the greenos queen is NEVER a true “ally” or friend of the USMC, and only helps them because it’s a means to an end, being their hives success. If you’re a liability, a risk, or easy prey she will just get you. If you’re submissive and helpful she may keep you around as a servant.

Anything else would be “JOIN OR DIE” and that’s just gmod mugging fearrp and not fit for the RP server stance that administration holds.

But yeah just make it so greenos have a separate queue, and dying as queen doesn’t sacrifice ur spot in normal queue.

Lmao, imagine playing in a setting entirely based around the concept of “Man playing god, tries to control something beyond his means” and being genuinely pikachushocked when you get attacked by a xenomorph you couldn’t control.

The primary concept behind Greenos is to help execute on the fantasy of W-Y Scientists trying to make Xenos they can keep under their thumb and ultimately failing (as has happened in a glut of movies, comics, books, etc). The uncontrollable allegiance of Greenos plays into that vibe/aesthetic.

That said, if you feel you can perform a set of actions (in this case: Greeno Farming) that results in waaay more research points than any other action, while also adding players to the round only to then instantly remove them, and this somehow that doesn’t trigger your “Maybe this is unintended” feeling… dunno what to tell you. You’re making the game a bad experience for other players so you can get more points faster than anything else in game. We’re gonna say no to that.

The queen who makes the decisions WILL be someone who hasn’t played yet assuming atleast one observer enables xeno after death, it’s the result of xeno queue, the only exception is if a xeno player who died early and had noone else competing for the first burst in which it may be biased.

Put short, the person taking the reigns is more than likely going to be unbiased to the outcome of the round and is more likely to side with the faction that treats them the best, this isn’t even talking about xeno mains who want a change in gameplay and just want to fight the prime hive.

But I stated that it is a theory which you can more, or less prove by observing rounds/being a greeno and reading hive messages where actually most of the times it is more than half greenos advocating for that just because (no reason). It is safe to assume that most greeno players are either dead marines, or dead xenos and that bitterness is present.
It is easier to belive without any direct proof than someone stating it is nearly always evil marines against innocent greenos who only want peace.

It should have some sort of mutiny rules and mechanics, not simply a whim of a greeno queen peer-pressured by other greenos. Did you know you can lie and fabricate all those mean marines threating, or even harming you and there is literally no rule, or punishment for that? Get few random greeno players angry enough at marines to do it and you have a betrayal on your hand.

You can’t do it with mutiny, which I would argue is just as much impactfull as greeno betrayal. And why such rules are in place? So that somebody with some power and responsability checks if it is a valid reason, otherwise we would have bored players wanting HvH lying about CIC just to shoot people.

You do you, but that definatelly is the case, I might overestimate that, but as mentioned previously, it takes a few angry greenos to lie their teeth out about marine bullies, there is a reason why culture of greenos betraying was born, was it because marines were always mean to them from the start? I doubt.

Completly baseless assumption. Greenos are made far into the round for xenos to get few caps (monkeys) which larve slot will be taken by those roundstart observers who are in queue priority.
Is there anybody that actually observers roundstart, disables xeno after death, checks research all the time and when greenos are about to be made then he enables it? I doubt.

Completly false besides the part about xenomains, who as much as I have disgust towards, atleast actually are kind of bored with XvH gameplay and would like some XvX (thus aforementioned famous WAR greeno queen that doesn’t betray without good reason). But your average xeno, or marine player after death will have personal bias in the round and I argue it will be mostly against marines.

IME, marines literally hate anything that isn’t a marine. If it’s not USCMC (or even if they’re only a different fucking SQUAD) they hate them. I would point you to how every greenshift eventually ends in marines just shooting everything even though it’s been fairly peaceful on all other party’s behalf (or even your note earlier about marines wanting to force HvH mutiny). Unfortunately, a substantial portion of the server base ONLY wants to shoot shit.

I do this when i die as survivor, when I see that xenoes don’t have any people I like. Its the reason why most of my queen playtime is greeno. And I also see others survs just not respawning as regular xenoes for reasons.

So you say I make baseless assumptions, followed by you making baseless assumptions? It’s really not hard to find roundstart observers waiting for greenos lmao, just go to a bursting monkey and there is a good chance you will find a couple of unkitted marine ghosts with 0 equipment other than basic armour, really not hard to find this out.

I quite often just observe for maps I dont want to play because theres no AFK timer and you will be alerted for next round start immediately. Other people do similar to this, not just me.

If you would prefer I bring up psychology and how the human mind is more likely to pick up on negative actions more than positive then I can do that too, it is by human thinking bad deeds will be more noticed than good deeds, both mistakes towards the corrupted hive and total betrays done by corrupted hives. Theres no metagaming slop happening where queens are like “i died as xeno so will avenge myself by betraying!!!” its just more often than not people in power on the marine side going around being hostile saying shit like “Im going to kill them” or just attacking them

No corrupted is gonna say in hivemind “wow these guys are really nice” they will however say “someone just shot me 3 times/said they are going to kill me”

Quite literally there have been times where researchers have said “i should kill them and start over” or saying “you will not get more monkeys you will deploy or we will kill you” when theres just 2 of the hive, they have no reason to remain there and its becoming all the more common as people try to anticipate a betrayal so it just goes around in a circle of lack of trust → lack of reason to stay loyal

If you arent here for a psychology lesson refer to my first answer, baseless assumption with no scientific backing ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Onto your other comments

most of the times it is more than half greenos advocating for that just because (no reason). It is safe to assume that most greeno players are either dead marines, or dead xenos and that bitterness is present.

Unlikely for previously mentioned reasons, most of the time it will be someone who either died very early (survivor) or an observer who didn’t want to play the round.

It should have some sort of mutiny rules and mechanics, not simply a whim of a greeno queen peer-pressured by other greenos. Falling to peer pressure as a queen is silly, as queen you hold quite literally an undisputed grasp on the hive regardless of what the others think, are they not listening? Banish them get someone who will, telling your hive to not antagonise marines is a fair ruling to hand out and breaching that is a rulebreak, you cannot defy the queen. It is up to them to take the threats seriously although likely wont see any backing considering its on par with saying that X xeno you dont like said Y about the queen, please banish and them following through with it, although hypothetical you can see how its silly.

You can’t do it with mutiny, which I would argue is just as much impactfull as greeno betrayal. And why such rules are in place? Xenomorphs care only for the hive’s success, this is the gameplay loop and they should always be moving towards it, corrupted hives only have the option to reason with marines on how they can achieve said goal, they are allowed to deem marines a liability at any point and cut ties for this reason.
Marines on the other hand know that their actions will be judged by some point and will need good reasoning for it and wouldn’t throw their life away just because the aCO decided on a split drop or something stupid like that, the only reason it goes through admins is so that it can be properly handled as they are still USCM so its a blue on blue fight and not as cut and dry as xenos going hostile and killing everyone.

You do you, but that definatelly is the case, I might overestimate that, but as mentioned previously, it takes a few angry greenos to lie their teeth out about marine bullies, there is a reason why culture of greenos betraying was born, was it because marines were always mean to them from the start? Something about baseless assumptions.

This is going around in circles. @Cabal. chill man. It is not healthy to get this worked up about a 2d space man game.

Indeed I forgot how much autism it takes to play this game for this long, so it wasn’t wise to assume there are no no-lifes who just observe to get a chance to play as greeno.

It is only unhealthy if you get angry about it. :patrice:

I retract all of my statements, you are all 100% right, marines are just mean to greenos and that is why they betray, end of the discussion. No point to get this worked up on the smallest of detalis about a 2d spessman game.
