HP - 150
Slash damage - 30
Abilities:
- Toggle Long Range Sight
- Hide
- Tail Scythe
- Accelerate
- Speed stress
Tail scythe will replace tail stab and will be a hit scan attack that when proc will cause highlighted box to appear to the right of the Demon, any target that enters the box will take damage to ether the legs or feet. The base line damage is 5.
Accelerate, will give 10 points of shields but hurt 10 points of HP. When proc and in effect the Demon will have enhanced speed, and if you land a Tail scythe attack when Accelerate is proc the attack will do 10 more points of damage. When proc If you run into any Human you will knock over the human stunning them and yourself, you will also be slowed but the human will not.
Speed stress, are gain from using Accelerate up to 5 levels. For every level you go up your Tail scythe gains 4 points of damage. This means you can get Up to a 20 point buff on Tail scytheing. Also for every level your Accelerate speeds you up more and lasts a bit longer.
First level just the 4 point buff, Second level you lose connection with the hive mind, Third level you lose the ability to heal, Forth level you take 20 points of damage, Fifth level you take 20 points of damage and will become stunned and slowed after Accelerate un-procs.
THE IDEA BEHIDE THIS STRAIN
I just think it would be neat to lean into speed aspect of runners and make a hit and run extreme glass cannon for adrenaline junkies.

I don’t have the new zoomer reaction speed, but it sounds fun to watch and mess around with. Make it so at level 5 speed or so when you crash into a wall, you splatt on it leaving acid on the wall (of course gibbing you).

This could actually be really funny and interesting. Considering the low health of the caste it could be very entertaining. My only two suggestions would be to A) not do the stun both runner and human unless the runner is at speed 3 or 4 and B) limit what the runner is able to pull while accelerated. We dont want them pulling the SADAR back after a queen screech at mach fuck.

Are we getting old brother? Interesting idea @Catzonwheelz. I wonder how the sprite would look?
I mean, to pull someone you have to face the other way, and that should of course force the runner to tumble. What would be cool is if you can ram into someone at mach 1 and you make them fly like 4-5 tiles the way you were going, while you take loads of damage and a hefty stun (also could do funny wall bang tech).
That could work! I do think this idea has a lot of potential, and could either be stupid fun or stupid rage inducing to play.
I think this is well thought out maybe need some adjustment here and there but that would need be done with some play-testing.
Here are some points that I would like to suggest to be added.
- There needs to be an clear sign which level of accelerate you are in.
- When you are hit by buckshot or slug you die at the fifth level in one shot to make it risk and reward heavy.
- They no longer have acid claws but Tail scythe adds an slow if hit to the target this slow increase by the amount of accelerate.
These are mine ideas feel free to do what you want with it.
Nothing that wild, perhaps a bit thinner in places, with a more pronounced tail blade.
Thats some good thinking…would fix the issue silverplate brought up.
Thats a given… hell one shot of buck may just kill you at full health anyhow.
Yes i have been giving that some thought.
Frankly the issue all these ideas… is that know jack all about coding, i got the base line stain working and was able to make basic form of accelarate and tail scythe issue is they are little more then clones from apperhend and scissor cut.
had been hoping to able to copy much of the code from the other castes and strains and molding it to what i needed…which kind of works but i am running into it the brick wall of trying to get buff on proc to buff not slashs but the tail scythe.
(BTW the base with the accelarate as it is right now is very funny… )
Give it a blade mohawk for more aerodynamic purposes. That way you look cool smashing into a wall.
