Description of the incident:
I was given a low effort note with a low effort investigation that did not properly reflect what happened and the note makes me look like a shitter. I would like the note to be updated, or removed, to properly reflect what happened.
What Happened that lead to the note?
I was evacing due to dying from IB and missing a hand. I couldn’t function and was nearly dead, I had dragged a marine who was dead (not perma) but still hugged to get evaced with me. I was unsure how long they had been hugged for, but it was long. They couldn’t be placed in a stasis bag as they were dead so time was crucial. The DP launches but turns out it was on fly by. Absolutely fine except we had a marine about to burst and perma, and I was dying actively. I tell the DP “you got to be shitting me” and he taunts me by saying “get pranked”. I tell him you’re “lucky to be locked in there”. They say “Come on in”. I walk in with my shotgun drawn, they draw their gun but I get the first shot off PBing them. I was walking in to threaten them with my shotgun as I was upset they were being toxic, but I was satisfied with how it ended.
Why are you Upset with the note?
There is clearly a reason for the fight, even if it was rushed escalation, it’s still escalation. He was letting me and another player die. He might as well have pulled the trigger, and ontop of that he mocked me. He drew his gun with the clear intent to shoot me. (I’m going off this PR where a gun being drawn allows another player to react defensively. Silencer had accepted being able to fire on another player is proper escalation. https://gyazo.com/8a61e51b9a34df8fd19a7e39c72ccf2f I am able to link the post if you need it, but most of the PR is irrelevant.). I did walk in with the intention of threating to not mess up again as it would mean death for me and another marine. The note is written poorly, making me look like a griefer, and is false stating I had no reason to fight the PO. I don’t think Segrain really cared what I had to say in the ahelp.
I would like the story to be included and the note fixed or removed instead of “He shot a DP for no reason”

I will mention I had issues with the MP department not treating my injuries, and Segrain was helpful in getting that resolved.
Hey, Dropship Pilot here. Only today found out about the report, and something I’ve read bewildered me, so I decided to give a response. I only vaguely remember the round, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
To begin with a summary. I went into fly-by to drop a sentry, and I did not see or hear talk about an “about to burst marine” either because I didn’t pay close attention, or because I simply wasn’t informed. So when the guy got angry at me, I thought it was because of the fact that I went on fly-by, and that alone.
I’m pretty positive that this is a lie. I do not know what the logs say, but I do not remembering pulling anything on him. I would have no reason to, I barely grasped the situation at hand. And it goes to show, because not even a second later after he steps into the cockpit, he PB’s me.
I got genuinely confused, ahelped, and launched a small investigation on my own to try and understand what happened. Later into the very same round, I was informed that the marine was already dead by the time they arrived into the dropship, and that they bursted post-mortem.

I do have a question. Why did you tell me “get pranked” if you didn’t understand what was going on?
Why are you dropping turrets as transport? Unless I’m tripping that sounds more like CAS work.
My side of the story:
I can’t walk in if I feel like it into the cockpit, I was a PFC. This was after you told me something along the lines of “Come on in” and opened the door for me.
You did pull a weapon on me as I walked on to you with a shotgun, that’s the whole reason I shot you as I thought you were going to shoot me, but logs will clear that up. I mean why else did you open the door?
The marine wasn’t perma, he was dead but still hugged and could be ressed. Sadly you doing the fly by lost him his round which is why I was so upset with you. Basically what you said and why I stressed the importance of them being unable to go in a stasis bag.
To be clear this SR isn’t to take action on you as the DP, or that no staff action was taken against you. It’s to get a note fixed or removed. I think we handled it pretty ICly after
I’ve reviewed the logs of this incident. Unfortunately, we do not have logs which record whether or not a character’s weapon is drawn or holstered. However, that is immaterial since having a gun drawn is not currently a stage of escalation (whether that is or is not changed in the future is not relevant to this case). The victim player was clearly aware that the actions were a breach of escalation which, if they were aware of your hostilities, tempered their own actions against you; their abiding of the rules placed them at a tactical disadvantage, one that staff has the onus of equalizing through enforcement.
Whether the shooting was justified in total is highly questionable; while your reason for anger may have been understandable, the situation hardly invokes the “exceptional circumstances” clause required to ignore escalation, because if that player were to shoot you, it would have been a rulebreak.
That said, your note should not be for griefing but for a breach in escalation. This report is accepted and the note will be adjusted to reflect this verdict.
