Round ID:

32769

Your character name:

Eli or Elisa Solis

Accused character name:

Dallas ‘OD’ Joghs

What rule(s) were broken?:

Rule 2: Roleplay

Description of the incident:

In this round, Dallas ‘OD’ Joghs was the XO. From what i heared, not only was he AFK in his bunks when the first marine wipe oocured but also put the ASO in charge, which he did not announce. As the ASO tried to salvage the situation and got marines to fix comms, Dallas ‘OD’ Joghs returned and promptly started to blame the ASO for the OPs failures via annoucnments. These announcements are not fitting for an XO, especially not as he was the one to blame for the OPs failure by going AFK, letting the ASO take charge.
(I was a Xeno, but i noticed his hard LRP/griefing behaviour throughout multiple rounds and talked to some in Discord where i got most of the shipside event information. Iam sorry if i got a account wrong or chain of events mixed up, but still…his announcements.)

ASO here, will provide with what I went through.
I was moving from Flight control to around the ship after setting Alamo autopilot on. Heard SO saying over command comms about how she got left alone in CIC so I went to CIC. I didn’t hear much of the briefing so didn’t know XO’s plan, when I arrived SO complaint on XO just threw her the tablet and went out. I went to check with monitor to see XO in his bunk afk, then moved over to decipher thingy to make an announcement since his plan didn’t include fixing comms iirc. Announced to marines to retreat off from city and fix comms. XO came back later blaming SO on not listening to his orders and got marines dead so I said “It was my order”. What happened next more or less shit flinging as XO called me CLF agent there, yada yada yada…
Edit: Captain did say something along the line of “You have CIC, you better hope we win so you can mutiny me”. But tbf, I didn’t even notice the marines ground side were planning on mutiny the XO as I were speaking to Essie the SO and Owain the army synth, which gonna be funny ngl.

From the perspective of a groundside rifleman here, the XO was incompetent and 100% LRP with those announcements. We received zero word of the massive marine wipe across the city until after maybe, 5-6 minutes after it had happened, multiple people were willing to mutiny because of his behaviour and actions. I can’t really blame any of the staff officers since they’re kind of useless without comms. The only announcements after the wipe was the XO telling us that the ASO was a CLF agent and to evac so we could lynch him, literally saying to kill the ASO over announcements. They also blamed the SO in the announcement schwimmbadpommes provided. Later in the round after the queen had died, it was said somewhere in the rounds LRC that, he had deployed with no command tablet or radio telephone, and was barely rescued from capture due to a passer by marine. I’d argue adding a rule 8 on top of this report, honestly.

Edit: I have revised this report to include more information.

From my observations Joghs has a frequent streak of LRP behaviour and poor quality behaviour as XO that you cannot attribute to a single round or justifiable mistakes for being new to the role. While a bad round or two is understandable, (I myself as a disclaimer have forgotten acceptable standards once in a blue moon, you get carried away having fun,) the lack of awareness regarding his actions has only led to this behaviour having persisted and I do not believe he will improve.

This report is only a fraction of questionable things I’ve noticed on his behalf and he has been repeatedly counselled and advised by mentors to little effect. He has had multiple SEAs such as Hades assisting him to no avail. I have seen him XO I believe four times. He has been alone (solo XO, no CO) I believe twice. What is not a belief but a fact is he has been mutinied twice for incompetence of command, and I have led one of these mutinies myself. There have been multiple SOP violations such as deploying all squads including the fobbits of Bravo to frontline in these rounds - When the Mess Technician is the only marine guarding FOB, something has gone terribly wrong. Even with a CO overseeing him, his lack of communication and attitude are relatively dreadful to play under.

I am not one to jump the gun nor ruin someone’s experience by calling for it, but there are others who share my sentiment regarding what is the equivalent of soft griefing, and I sincerely believe he needs to be QC’d on command roles.

Some more screenshots from the same round:

I’ve seen this player in command roles across multiple rounds. Every time I’ve been in a round with this guy it’s some variation of this, loud, blame-y, low effort command RP.

Despite my best efforts to try and tutor him in CIC, Joghs has shown me again and again in his rounds as SO and XO that he will make the decision that is the most fun for him at the moment, refusing to listen to orders unless the person is pandering to him, or asking him to do something he strictly wants to do.

He’ll often deploy without authorization if he gets bored, sometimes without gearing up, and almost always without anyone knowing until they see the tac-map groundside.
He’ll in general act very hostile to anyone that disagrees with him,
He’ll do LRP stuff like fire off a rifle at briefing because people haven’t saluted the captain,
He’s even scared off Mentors from wanting to help him from his hostile attitude and unwillingness to hold a standard of roleplay.

I really tried at the start, one of my characters’ main things is gentle parenting but he just refuses to adapt and continues this nasty behavior in one of the most important Low-pop slots. I brought some of these issues up in dead-chat after having issues with him in game, (I haven’t seen them on the Discord, or LRC), and he didn’t seem to care.

my opinion probably doesnt matter because i havent even touched CIC, but the forum rules say most of these posts are bad anyway so figured i’d chime in to defend the boy

i was an SL this round and was pretty annoyed with CIC and explicitly blamed the XO, and i ended up having a very long conversation with him and he took full responsibility and was genuinely open to criticism

people argue in-character constantly etc and i think Dallas just has a funny sense of humor about it, like those announcements shitting on the ASO were funny as fuck dude i laughed at least, he’s just having fun with it. i think people may be attributing malice where there is none.

i do not really have the experience or nearly enough playtime to strongly make this claim but there’s much much worse XOs that i fundamentally dislike and i think are legitimately toxic but there’s no one reporting them. while I might think Dallas ain’t a good XO, i feel like this dogpile is only happening because Dallas ‘OD’ Joghs is a ‘newer’ XO (i believe he is at least)

and there’s CIC players like Maple01 here that i actually love working with, great CIC, that are railing against him, so I trust their judgement a little bit, but there’s a level of fairness to be mulled over before anyone should consider jumping to a jobban.

I can vouch for the fact that Dallas has no interest in learning or wanting to improve. I was a SEA who was training him on basic brigging procedures and marine law (he was playing MP), and every time I quizzed him on the topics we’ve covered, he would always come up with troll answers such as “I would blame the Warden for making me put up with this bullshit” or something just as obscene. At first, I figured he was just being naive and didn’t fully grasp just how crucial it is that he should understand marine law and how to carry out proper procedures, so I pulled him aside and told him LOOC to warn him that he should take his teachings seriously, as breaking any part of marine law or SOP can result in OOC consequences as a MP. But I genuinely believe he does not care, since in the next several rounds that other MP’s have played with him, I keep hearing the same feedback from his CMP or Sgt MP’s - that Dallas does not take any of their teachings seriously and shows no intention of wanting to learn.

I have 2 sides of the coin with Dallas;

  1. He is naive and pretty LRP but not a bad person, I remember his first few rounds as a little PVT in the req line and on the field, by no means was he a troll or griefing, he was just really new. He’s gotten better over time and experienced, when I learned Hades had given him a talking to in LOOC I told him in LOOC a later round to take MP and command roles more seriously and he seemed to be receptive. I even taught him req once and he seemed to be willing to learn and assist.
  2. He is arguably more stubborn and LRP than I am (and I have 8 notes and 3 bans mostly for rule 2 and rule 10 breaks), unable to take criticism. We had a round with him as XO where he sent literally everyone to the front leaving FOB to an IO and Mess Tech, comms were also down for the majority of the round. When anyone called him to ask for orders or anything, he just hung up immediately and didn’t seem to have an issue with this in deadchat or OOC, we even mutinied him that round. During the most recent halo op, he deployed as an SO to assist in medical duties (It was bad, I was the only corpsman for about half that op) without being ordered to and without knowing how medical worked. He ended up OD’ing a ton of people and dismissing it along the lines of “ODs aren’t actually dangerous, just oxy OD”. He and Chen argued further in deadchat but I don’t remember exactly about what. He did in a later round play nurse and learn more about medical, I don’t know what his proficiency in medical is now though.

There are some other tales about Dallas being a rouge SL or argumentative SO but those are really things you can consider IC and not too big of a problem, or have already been stated by others on this post.

I want to add my experiences as mostly a FTL player, Dallas has been playing alpha SL a lot recently at least for me and he has been ranging from incompetent to soft griefing in some cases.
As for his RP standard, i have not seem him RP a believable character (as SL) yet, he is either silent or using words like LMAO, lol etc. once i was walking on the dropship before brief and saw him call someone a chud.
Leading skills are basically non existent, he says „good morning alpha” at each round start and usually that is all he does, he is regularly late to brief or arrives barely on time without responding to radio calls. When we go groundside he tells a commtech to do engineering „stuff” and when he sees action he only gives the ,abcd CHARGEEE!!! vibe as i have not yet seen him give out meaningfull orders. He then disappears without a trace, when i play a role with a live tac map as GP or SO etc. i see him dead deep behind the xeno lines which leads me to believe he often does suicide charges.
I am writing this as noone has given a report on him playing as SL which i feel like is not enough and should get a warning or ban from it.

My only interaction with this person has been him wordlessly cryo’ing as SO immediately after I refused to give him both a MK1 and MK221 for a FOB deployment.

Hello, ZEN here. I was one of the instigating marines in the first mutiny against Dallas when he was an SO/aCO.

Dallas is a newer player. (even more new to command roles.) In a recent Dallas XO round, (32783) from my POV he did very well with keeping things MRP+ and played his role decently well. I had fun playing as a marine under his command. I chatted with Dallas a bit after the round, He told me he enjoys playing command and is trying to improve on things brought up in this PR. If that round was any indication he is CERTAINLY trying, and improving. Perhaps this PR was a sort-of wakeup call.

While the past LRP behavior has been questionable, granted. I do not believe jumping to strong action like a job-ban is needed here.

Hello Schwimmbadpommes,

After reviewing logs I’ve decided to approve this report, and will be issuing a 1 day ban along with a job ban from XO due to violating rule 2 to this player..
