It sucks not having proper medbay support during Lowpop. If there’s no doctors available roundstart - buff Autodoc to do most surgeries.
Also buff req to work automatically with no CTs, you know what? CAS too… what else uhm perhaps AI marines as well? Who needs players just make it a simulation…
The ideal vision of cm is you press one button and get to watch the game complete itself.
AI marines should also be better then the average marine. It would be soul.
Lowpop autodocs being buffed is something I might see being useful.
As it stands, un-upgraded autodocs are almost totally useless, and I have never seen autodocs be buffed by research.
Even on my UPP ship map, where I make the autodocs start fully upgraded, no one uses them since we’re conditioned to accept the autodocs are useless.
It has also gotten to the point where doctors in perticular, think it’s more fun to do surgery then let a machine do it for them. Nobody joins as doctor to just hang back and do nothing. They wanna do surgery.
yeah because even as-is docs can have a 2 hour round where they get 1-2 patients every 5 minutes… while having 4 doc players. It’s bleak unless there’s a competent carrier on the frontline in which case you at least get to do constant larva removal.

Lowpop medbay doesn’t get any patients anyway, the synth and the FOB doctor steal all the patients.
Research can’t print autodoc upgrades on lowpop because they don’t get sent any bodies.
Honestly not horrid idea, but needs to be based on overall pop, not just doctor players as not to discourage it, other possibilities to cover med on lower pop could be dispensed doctor pamphlets to SOs, to let them cover surgeries if necessary, still get coverage and a good doc can cover med on low-pop with themselves and auto-docs
That’s a good point about the overall pop, smart thinking.
Granted I know SOs are limited in lowpop and often busy, but I love the idea of the SO in CIC yelling at people to get on their SL while doing bone surgery. The silliness of lowpop makes me smile.
That is comedy gold. I support this idea and the above.
Autodoc can already be buffed to OP PLZ NERF perfomance with the bio printer.
Just nobody uses it because bioprinter has some…problems.
But for that one would need to fix bioprinter. Wich is a bit harder then to buff the autodoc.
Edit: I just noticed the research rework hasnt been touched in over a month. I migth need to poke nanu about my pr to fix the printer.
