You could ask this question about real life and come to the same conclusion. If all humans worked together and acted as one unit we would be traversing through space and growing food on mars by now or whatever. There are a lot of intelligent and considerate players on the server, just as there are in real life, but getting 80+ people to all work in cohesion is a very difficult task. There are also a lot of new players mixed in who might be so focused on just operating their characters movement/mechanics they forget basic things like looking at chat, closing cades or turning their armor light on.
You can also ask some xeno players and they’ll say the same thing about their fellow sisters. “why is this dumb drone building 1 space corridor walls and cramping us in”, “why is this stupid spitter body blocking me” and “omg idiot queen didn’t heal me go next”.
Everyone is on a different level of “robustness” and there is a great mix of players who take “winning” seriously and believe it’s the entire point of the server/game. Others are here to roleplay, create fun scenarios that have nothing to do with the combat aspect and simply enjoy the medium colonial marines is set in. We also have lots of people that play just 3-4 hours a week and just use the server to blow off steam, do fun in-game projects or get drunk/high irl and suicide OT grenade into the caves. At the end of the day everyone is just trying to have a good time and have fun, even those people that grief and attempt to ruin other people’s round are just trying to have fun in their own twisted way.
I think a lot of people make the mistake of treating this as some kind of competitive esport or whatever. Like I can see someone trying to take CounterStrike/Dota/LoL etc, some what seriously but this a roleplay server. You might have a goal or vision of what “should” be happening or what people “should” be doing, but they have other ideas or maybe they have the same idea but are just overwhelmed at that particular moment with other aspects of the game. You might think people are trying to piss you off or 'throw" the round on purpose or are just plain stupid. But the fact of the matter is that a lot of people are just so focused on their own game play they miss a lot of what’s going on and inadvertently might effect you ina negative way.
Lots of people get mad at games across the board so it’s natural to be pissed at someone who is ruining your round deliberately or not. But at the end of the day this is just some random roleplay server built by the sweat of thousands of volunteers/players over the course of years on some old software. No one is out to get you, not everyone is as stupid as you think, none of this matters and we’re all just trying to have fun and be distracted. There is no such thing as winning or losing, every single round is a marine major.

You’re right about this. I don’t normally have an issue with not winning, or stuff like that. However, it can be more than frustrating to be excluded from the round because of someone else’s major and easily avoidable failing. I highly doubt anyone is genuinely attempting to throw me off or ruin the round because very few people are there to ruin someone else’s round.
I do, however, as a fellow stupid person, recognise when people are being just plain dumbasses. And most of the time it’s not an issue, enjoyable even. BUT HOLY SHIT. Sometimes it absolutely gets on your tits.
There isn’t really a solution to this problem other than to just shrug it off.

Ya man that’s legit all you can do, shrug it off.
Also take a moment to think about the fact your actions have undoubtedly caused someone to be upset at the game/round at some point or another. Could be as simple as getting a good kill on a warrior or maybe you bumped accidentally into a medic trying to patch someone up.
Just try and let it go pre much. Easier said then done of course but you don’t wanna be upset irl over something like SS13 CM tbh.

My actions have caused someone to be upset many many many times. Because I am bad at the game.
In reality, I was never really miffed by anything. I just like making funny rageposts from time to time. Mildly annoyed is like the worst it gets into impacting me IRL.
But it’s funny to pretend to be outraged online.

Besides the marines that are mad at you is just a little irrational. ( ITS A 28 YEAR OLD GAME WITH AWFUL CONNECTION AND LAG)
Its just one round anyways.
Alot of people will just forget what happen to them. Like that one time where someone CAS the FOB leading to 10 marine deaths. FUN STUFF!
