Description of the incident:
Hello.
During this round, I woke up late as XO. I rushed to CiC to get a handle on things before XX:20 and to arrange a briefing.
Imani White enters the CiC, informs me that she wants us to drop as fast as possible, and I said we drop when we drop, and she says something to the effect of “5 minutes, drop then” (XX:20)
I then announce briefing, go about making plans..
Only for XX:20 to hit. The Liasion to start screaming in general radio to load up and they are deploying. I inform the marines to NOT DO THIS, and that I am on my way to the hanger… when someone announces they launched. I barely had time to do anything ‘official’ to make it known to not do this, but with a briefing announced, I would think that it would make sense not to listen to some random Coprpo
The DP then admits to taking a bribe from the Liasion.
I then ahelp, it gets marked as a IC issue, and I cryo.
I watched the round for a bit… It was a complete and utter disaster, and the Liasion ended up going SSD on the Alamo
I disagree with this being an IC issue, and I will explain so in the following.
First, we’ll talk about why I believe the DP, Tommy Trousers, broke the rules.
Rules 2, 4, 8.
Rule 2. Roleplay. I believe it is incredibly LRP for a 2nd LT to take a bribe from a Liasion to override the Chain of Command and commit Sediation and round start.
Rule 4 Griefing. It feels like griefing to launch the Alamo against the clear wishes of your commander, without all the marines being on, and without a plan/briefing being done.
Rule 8. Use your slot. It ties into the two reasons listed above. To Grief/Be LRP in a 2nd LT slot, and to disrupt the flow of the round feels like a misuse of your slot.
We will now move onto the Liasion, Imani White.
Rule 2. Roleplay. The Liasion is clearly marked as NOT being above marine law and have ZERO authority over the marines… Yet their first course of action was to demand the freshly awoken XO do what THEY want, and then commit Sediation by overriding/upsurping the chain of command. This feels like INCREDIBLE LOW ROLEPLAY, especially before the first drop and with a LATE WAKE UP LOW POP XO.
Rule 3. Community Expectations. I feel like it falls under the “Don’t be a dick” catagory, to instantly demand a late wake up XO do what you want, and instead of letting him follow SoP, do brief etc, to instead override everything he is attempting to do to hijack the round for what THEY want.
Rule 4. Griefing. Pretty self explanatory. White took over the entire flow of the early round to do what she wanted as the Liasion, making me useless as the Captain, and overriding anything I might want to do.
Rule 8. Use Your Slot. It feels like a failure to use your slot properly by ignoring the BASIC DESCRIPTION given in the CL wiki page/the message you get when you wake up. Hijacking the CoC and taking over the operation doesn’t feel like anything a corporate Liasion is supposed to be. Sneaky. Manipulative. Using paperwork to get what they want. Oh. And to add onto this. The Liasion then ground deployed, ran around on the front line.
Rule 11. Marine Law/ Mutiny.. This one is the one I am unsure about. But this feels like both a blantant disrespect for marine law, and, a mutiny in all but name. They instantly made demands of the Captain, overrid their authority, overrid their COMMAND, and took over the entire flow of the round for their own reasons.
To sum this up. I believe it is a rule break on many accounts to act as this Liasion did, and is not in the spirit of what is aimed for by the community.
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
