Synthetic Info:

Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:

Aurora

Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory

Aurora models were originally Generation 2, pushed out in the early 2160’s, and were a hit success due to their combination of relatability to the common person and their ability to excel at complicated logistical tasks, such as plotting outer colony trade routes.
In 2180, shortly after the production of Generation 3 Synthetics, a Weyland Yutani Vice President who was banished to a remote colony, used the remaining influence he had to get the Aurora Model that was on his station sent in for service, and to its programming upgraded with surgical information, in an attempt to have an on call doctor that he wouldn’t have to worry about being bought out by a rival.
The resulting model was extremely popular with passing ships, so much so that more and more models were refurbished as word of mouth spread. The VP had more and more people coming to him for the upgrade package that he was selling and by 2182, an official Weyland Yutani recall had gone out for all remaining Generation 2 Aurora Models, where they would get their upgrades to be more in line with the newly produced Generation 3 Aurora Models, who now came with the surgical programming by default.
The Aurora that would be seen on the Almayer was the original refurbished Generation 2 unit, that had been sold off by the VP for a newer model. Waste not, want not.

Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions

She’s modeled after workers you might find on a far-away colony, or an isolated starship traveling the cosmos. She reminds many marines of a sassy lady you might find behind a desk or a counter, toiling away at her work without a complaint. Her sassier side comes out when she’s placed in situations where she knows what she’s good at, she knows how to do it, and dislikes when people come in and change her routine and the people she takes care of (marines mostly) ‘suffer’ for it.

How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?

Enlisted Personnel and Civilians would be treated practically the same..People who Aurora is supposed to assist, and while they may get sass directed at them, Aurora will generally be polite/teasing with them. Much less formal, and seeking to form long-term connections.
Officers would get a respectful, polite, if not a bit abrupt, conversation. Due to her programming, Aurora sees officers as the ‘boss’, and while she respects them due to the rank structure, she wouldn’t want to interact with them as much, and would shy away from longer-term interactions that weren’t ‘required’.

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

My interest in Synthetic comes from three places.

  1. My desire to be a supportive player, who can help others enjoy the game more. (Hence why most of my playtime is put into 'assistant roles, Medical, Requestions, MP and Engineering). The idea of playing a character that’s dedicated to that role, while having HRP expectations, is fun to me!
  2. Roleplay roleplay roleplay. If it wasn’t for people who interacted with me and made my time worth spending on CMSS13, I wouldn’t play frankly. So, being able to take on a heavy roleplaying role, where I can interact with others in a new manner, is something that appeals to me!
  3. Synthetics are just cool, and I like the idea of playing one.

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

(Edit because it ate this part of my reply)
My most memorable interaction with a Synth was with Dyer, and it was recent! I had 3 different interactions with him, in the same round, with 3 different lives, and each one was highly amusing/interactive for me. He saved me multiple times, and always had a quip ready for me, and it made me chuckle! (He didn’t know it was me he kept putting back together though!) He even saved me during hijack when I came in as a CBRN ert! It was overall a round of 10/10 interactions, especially when he found me in the corner of a cave, dragged me out, revived me, and had a quip ready for me!

Synthetic Character Story:

Skills:

How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?

I am extremely capiable in the departments of requestions, medical and command, and have dedicated most of my play time to all 3 of those catagories in one way or another. Engineering is my least played role, but I am playing more and more of it, (CT) and can now do everything within there at an acceptable (but not mastered) level.

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

Mkay. We’ll do 4 quick answers.

  1. I can deal with a face hugger trying to hug a crippled marine I am working on.
  2. During Delta alert, where CLF/Hostile UPP have boarded the ship and are attempting to harm marines, I am able to engage them in melee combat.
  3. Moving a wounded marine from the frontline to the FOB (due to a frontline collapse) and a uppity lurker attempts to harm the marine I am moving.
  4. I am a survivor synthetic planetside, and I am moving to rally with the other survivors at a hold point, and several drones come to attack me, I can defend myself until the threat is either dealt with within reason, or I reach the hold.

Final Info:

Have you been banned in the last month?

No!

Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?

Thank you to Irene for the help!
And thanks to whoever +1/-1/gives feedback!

Whilst we don’t interact directly much (given as Sev mostly plays shipside roles such as MT, CT, RO, Doctor, Researcher, etc. compared to me, a slut for planetside action), I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Sev start out in CM as a bald newbie, and grow into the relatively competent player they are today.

Sev definitely takes roleplay seriously, and they’re one of the more HRP players on the server. I’ve no doubt that they can roleplay as Aurora without issues, and I can also vouch for their mechanical competence in engineering, medical, requisitions and research.

Story was nice, and I think they’ll do well in the whitelist.

One critique I have though, is the fact that you do tend to get a bit hot-headed OOCly sometimes, which has bled into IC on a few occasions.
Synths catch quite a bit of flak, and you’ll often find your roleplay attempts shot down or just have to deal with LRP players in general, so it’s a role that needs a bit of thick skin.
Don’t take the game too seriously, it’s just how it is.

Goodluck, and I hope your app gets accepted!

+1

P.S. I still remember when you played CT for the first time and denied my large general pouch request because “You can buy it with points”… I will never forget, Sev… never…

Hello! I do want to take a moment and comment that yes, I can be a bit hot headed OOCly, and there have been a few moments where it has bled into IC, and its something I’ve tried really hard to work on, especially with my interest in the white lists because I’m aware of how much flak people catch!

Thanks for taking the time!

After a discussion and a vote, the council has Denied this application.

Overall there isn’t much to say rather than your reputation isn’t very good, immediately you were flagged to my attention for multiple instances of poor OOC behaviour. In both our community and the PVE community. Constantly arguing with players and just being abrasive in general, which immediately raises red flags with your chosen personality of being sassy. Being sassy with your known attitude doesn’t feel like its going to end well in our opinion.

A side note of my own personally, I am not a fan of your units chosen name either.

That aside, none of my council nor I am ready to support your application no matter the quality unless we see a 180 in your reputation and behaviour.
