Currently, if you use a drop pouch and switch its drawing method, you can use it just like a shoulder holster, instantly drawing your gun. However, it also gets a tiny extra bit of space.
Give the shoulder holster an extra mag, to balance and make it a superior pistol holder.
Yes, but the Drop Pouch functions exactly like a shoulder holster, except it can hold anything, plus if full with a pistol and two mags, it still has room for one tiny item. The Drop Pouch in unequivocally better at being a shoulder holster than the shoulder holster.
its outclassed by another option in the same slot, though. Just like a sidearm pouch is outclassed by a general pouch. That means they either need a buff or should be removed as redundant.
I’ve unironically not seen someone use the sidearm pouch ever, it’s actually so useless to the point it’s on par with just having the pocket empty.
Okay, but why wouldn’t I just use the Drop Pouch? It’s better than the shoulder holster and does the same thing- swap draw mode to where it pulls whatever out on click, set up a hotkey that opens the suit’s attachie slot, and it works exactly like a shoulder holster, except with extra storage.
I’m going to disagree with this idea purely because I am a shoulder holster user in real life and they typically only hold two spare mags. It gets pretty bulky to add a third pocket, which sacrifices one of the main uses of a shoulder holster: concealability. Having all that bulk under your arms makes it highly uncomfortable to do everyday tasks while rocking your holster, and makes you look lumpy in most shirts/coats you could wear over it.
Gameplay wise you do have a point though, but the drop pouch is still an option.
