Enforcement Action Taken

Description of the incident:

Off the top what I am trying to repeal is a Rule 8 - Use your slot note that was added to me. I’ll go over what happened.

Pretty much I woke up a few minutes late as a cargo tech to help out Henry Marshall who was alone in req. As I came in, an IO was at one of the two stations, giving marines gear. Told them I’ll take over, they left. and I started to help marines. During the round start rush, Henry was pulling some sort of silly gimmick about Mk1s. Generally I don’t pay attention to it since I’m just there to help serve attachies and get stuff done the QM will need help with.

After a bit I ask who should be packing fob crates. Since they weren’t done yet. Now, I didn’t get to see Henry’s response because I was getting called. So I work security and during the weekends I work 12 hour shifts sat and sun. Which while doing that, will be playing CM to help pass the time here and there was a MP, Req or medical. depending on how busy my shift is being. So I wasn’t sure if henry told me to at this point due to being distracted from work, but I was going to assume he didnt since he’s the QM and he has about as many hours as I do AS QM so I wasn’t going to step on his toes.

After that, more marines came up to the lines, while helping them out the IO came back and started to vend out ALL the plastic explosives from the vendor to take them for himself. Helping himself to our vendors. RIGHTFULLY the QM flashed him for it, told him not to. the IO mentioned something back but I had the vendor windows over the chat box so I couldn’t see what was said. What caught my attention was the CMP suddenly arresting Henry for it. So I’m assuming the Io called the arrest on Henry because “Well I got access so I can take whatever I want” Which isn’t really how it works since you’re supposed to respect req staff and their decision, just because you got access to the vendors to help gear marines doesn’t mean you should be using them to gear yourself.

So the QM gets arrested. I started on comms i refuse to pack the fob crate because of it. Mostly because all the people the QM was helping ended up coming over to my line, so I got a row of about 10+ marines, wanting gear. A short while later this is when Hermotimos pings me asking me why I won’t do my job. Well I mentioned in game I was going to go cryo after the line, but I won’t be packing crates. I think I said this to the ASO. At the same time the IO came back and I had to push him off the vendors and tell him to leave.

Now I should of mentioned to Hermotimos that I intended to cryo, it just slipped my mind since I was pissed about the entire situation. However while typing back my response to them after cryoing they closed my ticket cutting off my message already hitting me with the rule 8 note before I was done, deleting my response back. So I PM’d them wanting to talk to explain my fustration with what’s going on with req and how this isn’t the first time people have been using ‘req is overwhelmed’ or ‘req is being slow’ to CIC without even asking the QM if they want the help, just because they know they can access the vendors and take whatever they want for their own kit. Helping themselves to whatever they want after they help a few marines. For some reason, it’s mostly IO and sometimes SOs that do this stuff.

Getting back to the point. I was a bit rude to Hermotimos in the comments to them, sorry for that I was just pissed off about the whole thing. However, I don’t think I should of been hit with a Rule 8 note when I still was doing and did do my job up until the last few marines I was working with were fully given their gear. ASO was in req, and knew I was going to cryo. So the job was covered. It seemed Hermotimos latched on to me saying “I’m not making fob crates” as I am not doing any part of my job at all, therefor not using my slot which was not the case at all. I still served marines at the counter, and I made sure there was someone else taking over the role before leaving.

Evidence:

I mean, logs I guess? I really don’t have a good means to get screenshots or things as they happen on my laptop

Hello if the IO in question is Zion Barnes then I can give some more light overall.

The IO had been given req access to help out after asking me in the CIC for some. I didn’t think it’d be an issue until 10 minutes later people are demanding others get arrested. I can’t speak if the IO was raiding req, as I never got told anything about that

I was the XO that round and kept getting constant reports the QM was doing weird stuff, switching lines to the highest bidder, refusing to give out gear unless people paid, minor stuff that wasn’t an issue. Then I’m getting told the lines stopped and the QM is pissing off people refusing to give gear unless they go with his gimmick. Several marines report this directly to CIC on top of IO Barnes. The order to stop goofing off is given multiple times with MPs and IO Barnes (as Barnes had been assigned to help in req) being sent to relay the order, and it ends with the QM being arrested in lighting speed that I was confused about. I can’t remember the exact charges as when I tried to go talk to the QM and CMP in person, the QM was getting a mental evaluation and I had to go back to CIC just when I figured out where they were.

From what the ASO told me you were still doing your job handling the requisition line but there was something about you were only doing the line (wasn’t that involved as the op was going sour) and after you cryo’d the ASO would take over. There was some question if you were deserting or not from me, but after I heard you were just doing the line I sent a MP to watch just in case and didn’t really care after that. Your behavior wasn’t “I’m going AWOL” and you helped even after being frustrated so I saw no reason to charge you with abandoning your post.

Hello I was the CMP who arrested the quartermaster (Henry Marshall) this round.

The line was very long, and I recall early in the round the IO (Zion Barnes) requesting access to help requisitions. However, every attempt he made to service the very overwhelmed southern reqline ended with Henry flashing them and shutting the line. I believe this is because Henry was doing a bit where he would use the handheld ID scanner to charge for every request marines placed. Irregardless, I left at this point and told MPs to keep an eye on things.

Later the Captain (Chen) heard about Henry’s antics, and told me make sure that they were informed they have been directly ordered to stop charging for every order - I figured I would go do this in person so I headed to the requisitions line again.

It is here that I see Zion manning the second line again, this time vending themselves gear - it’s approaching the 20 min mark so I believe they’re vending their own stuff after helping with requisitions before they depart (fair enough, and I’m not 100% on this being the case given I wasn’t there for the middle chunk of pre-drop). It is here where Henry flashes them wordlessly AGAIN and Zion decides to order an arrest for assault, upon which I arrest Henry in front of Daniel.

All of this is to say that, well, it puts me in the position where I’ve seen the beginning and the end of this requisitions drama unfold, and I can confirm that Daniel missed all this first part, and essentially only bore witness to his boss being taken away in chains for trying to stop an IO pillaging requisitions (at least from their perspective) - which is something I spoke about with Daniel in LRC and we both agreed on. Honestly, from an IC standpoint I thought Daniel’s reaction was reasonable, and I think he was just trying to follow his boss’s lead.

Hey this was the QM from that round to clarify some things. Most of this account is correct but i’d rather give my perspective.

Essentially like many of my Req bits I just wanted to charge marines for MK1s (Highly valued Item) and making long orders because personally auctioning off government equipment is funny. On round start I was managing the line fairly well until a Charlie SG begged for south line to be opened. I saw this as an opportunity to make some easy cash and charged the SG for me opening the south line. I gave him his order closed the south line and continued to man the north line to not stop the clog of marines.

I believe this was when the IO (Zion Barnes?) was under the assumption I wasn’t handling the line effectively and had asked the XO for req access. I had ICly told him that I can manage the lines and was going to remove him until he told me it was under the captain’s orders to help req. I let Barnes man the lines for a good 6-7ish minutes and everything was running fairly smoothly. In this time frame I only charged 4 marines, 2 for MK1s, 1 for giving me a very long order, and the Charlie marine mentioned earlier.

I had only had issues when Daniel arrived later on and took Baren’s position at south line. Barnes at this point was attempting to take 3 plastic explosives from the vendor probably as you mentioned as a reward for manning the line. I probably was just be a hardass at the moment, but I flashed him and just said to wait his turn to line because under the Req rules the quartermaster can deny any request. Personally, I don’t really care that he was skipping the line but id rather not have people with req access just self serve themselves just because they have access to the vendors. This in turn caused my arrest for assualting Barnes and seemed to upset Barnes as he called me a quote “cuckhold” and hoped I rotted in jail.
I was later banned due to greifing and escalation. I’d rather not have someone else get noted for my antics so i hope this clears some things.

Hey there, @ReqMain.

We don’t do “my friend got arrested so I won’t do my job” here, this applies to nearly every job. I fully agree with what Hermotimos told you in the ticket. Please do not sign up for roles you do not intend to play.

Denied, there is no misconduct.
