Skip hijack if round time is less than 01:00.

Simple, easy, to the point. If the round time is less than 1 hour in, and dropship hijack happens, round ends instantly.

I like hijack, I do. What I don’t like is the 20 minutes prep, 10 minutes gameplay and then 5 minute hijack steamroll. This also prevents people from metaevaccing in the rare cases they do, and will hopefully serve to either encourage extending the round a bit longer or at the very least shortening the time it takes to get to a new one where we can play the game we came here to play. This will hopefully make lowpop less miserable. Ending the cycle of hijack literally making up over half of the total game on some nights.

Another day another skip hijack thread that will never come to fruition :sob:

But dude.

There’s code for it. It NEEDS to be here.

you will have 20 minutes of preparation and 15 minutes of actual gameplay and you will LIKE IT!!!

No but seriously this is a good idea.

Makes sense to me. If the marines got stomped groundside, why force both parties to replay the same situation shipside? If the marines beat the xenos in under an hour, the game is just over. And RP within those shorter rounds might benefit from the atmosphere that, win or lose, you won’t be abruptly interrupted and forced into combat unless the round drags on beyond that mark.

I am all in for this so hell yeah i vote. Extend a round because of a forced mechanic or a sidequest is a bad design but, Is there a point to waste time doing this if fob rework is coming? I highly doubt the devs want to do this since the aim is to have 1.5h+ rounds.

If It get in I am sure people start moaning that rounder are shorter than ever, but we can have a war forum topic with them

Instead of looking for ways to negate or skip hijack, start looking at ways to make it more cinematic. We need that shit to be a movie, regardless if its a loosing battle. I wouldn’t mind it as much if I could go down cinematically.

Hijack CAN be cinematic. It happens. Most of the time, however, it’s slop, and should be skippable, especially if hijack gameplay is higher in quantity than actual gameplay.

I think this is a good idea, but I am also anticipating the “We are not changing hijack” response and then the replies are locked.

So much community support, but it’ll never happen… bleak

We should automatically skip hijack if aCO says we’re going to defend CIC (or boats bc yaaaawn)

CIC is the bastion of the Bourgeoisie and I refuse to give my life in denfence of it. Try a WORKING MAN’S post like lower engi smh

We can always dream. :broken_heart:

I had a lotta unorganized nonsense to ramble about on this, but I could probably sum it up better by just saying hijack is treated more like a bonus round and it probably feels that way more often than not. I used to be so stubborn that I’d sooner die within the FOB sooner than I would evac, but there were times were I’d curse command or something and cryo instead. I’m not saying I’ve never fought during a hijack either, but the rounds are whatever you make it for the most part. A lot of the more recent changes to cades and turrets (without saying if they are good or bad for anything specifically) have expedited or narrowed things a little bit. The fact that hijack also gets prio over mutinies is also lame (personal opinion obviously, and not really a low pop thing.)

on the flip side if you’re a marine and youre gambling your life at round start for the sub hour xeno wipe and die, i think you waiting is funny and you should wait lol
