I don’t really care about the note or anything; it just felt rude and kinda petty. I have 400 hours in the game, and my only note is from 2016. What made me take the time to fill this out was the difference between my note and the admin message I received. The message I received was rude and came off like a command from someone overly controlling. While the note is worded considerably different with a kinder, more respectable tone. The admin message I received felt to me like it had no respect for me as a person. I especially feel like, considering I’ve played for 8 years and have had no interaction with the admins for the past 8 years, I don’t think a message like that was warranted. I like this server because most of the community views this as a casual game and isn’t overly serious or competitive, and I have never had an issue balancing humor and RP in the past. I don’t care about the note and would have been fine with especially if I was spoken to with the same respect and wording of the note. But I really dislike the approach that was taken. I, like everyone, would like to be treated with respect, and honestly speaking, if I were spoken to again in a similar manner, especially over such a minor offense, I would stop playing on the server and not come back. I just wanted to make this report to express how, from the player side, this behavior is not cool.
Seeing how I can’t reply, I’d like to post this response please leave it up I expect no further reply or action to be taken.
I think there’s a difference in wasting someone’s time and informing someone of a rule break and asking them politely not to break the rules again.
The message could have been worded in a more polite and informative tone. There’s a tonal difference between someone saying “hey would you please not say vent sus that is a meme refrence we all know what that it is and its a rule break.” and the response i received which was “Do not say “vent sus” we all know what you mean by it” especially when this message is coming from somoene in a postion of “power” over you. I won’t elaborate further on that cause I feel your response doesn’t really address my issue in how the moderator spoke to me, and any further discussion would be redundant or in bad faith.
The moderator who noted me was actively playing next to me in my squad, and I can only assume that any abruptness was not for my benefit but their own, so that they could also resume playing the game. I broke the rules as I was playing next to the mod They sent a message that was rude and passive-aggressive by saying we all know what you mean by it, before I had even replied. Implying I was intentionally trying to be coy. I don’t have to further explain how the tone was rude and could have been differently for a harmless rule break. It’s clear that you understand that by the tone of your message was polite and professional, I’d just like other staff to be held to the same standard. Until then, I don’t see myself getting much enjoyment from playing.
