Tricordazine may still be safely drunk, making it a considerably shittier substitute for liquid unga.
Unga may be taken in pill form without liquid unga’s adverse effects.
When combined with lime, oxycodone produces sleen, a painkiller with an effectiveness between that of tramadol and oxycodone. This makes it so lime may be added to the popular NW mixture to make it fix both tram and oxy ODs.
Peridaxon’s preferred method of delivery, unlike other standard meds, is ABSORPTION, meaning it is more potent when delivered via the FAST setting of an autoinjector (NOT THE PRECISE SETTING). Sprays and eyedroppers also apply chems via absorption, but are currently bugged.
Feel free to share some other FAX you may have discovered.
You can blow your head clean off with shotgun suicide now.
It used to be chance based, but now it even has flavour text of": JOHN SMITH’S HEAD EXPLODES INTO A CLOUD OF BLOOD AND BONE BY THEIR M37A2 PUMP SHOTGUN, OH GOD.
Actually huge, one of the two healthy uses for Unga, IMO, was as a 12 use minor wound cure all. Fact check me here, but I don’t think a limb can break if it is undamaged.
Fun tip, some colonist/surv’s corpse’s pockets have tricord pill packs. 5u water from your MRE bottle into your flask, and you can drop said pills directly into it at no loss!
You can change autoinjector modes by using unique action, fast making it work at halved potency but injects instantly, precision injecting it with full potency but a small windup. Possibly dependent on your medical skill.
I think it is a step off version of tricord if drunk, so it is like half tricord speed…
Dex and Dex plus can be put into cigs and smoked. Not really useful though since the only time you want dex plus is on crit bodies stacking o2.
Unga is not changed if you put it into a PRC and use an ez injector from research, which any marine can use. Sacrifices a pouch slot though.
Cigarettes are now 60U, meaning a pack of lucky strikes from the vendor now holds 1200U, or enough to store 2 whole blood packs. The cig pack can be held in a helmet accessory, so a helmet can store 4800U of chemicals. Have to use a syringe to transfer 15U of chem at a time though. Make sure to remove the nicotine in them first!
I was initially annoyed by this but then realized it makes it so you don’t have to check what mode an autoinjector is on each time you retrieve it. The mode switch is instantaneous too so it doesn’t really lengthen the process at all.
Insane injector buff to the point I don’t even think pill packets have any worth in taking anymore.
Unless packets get like double the amount per pack they’ve been pretty much powercrept out of usefulness completely. Another new player trap for the vendors.
The test-merge just makes me hope it wilts on the vine and dies
But when it comes to actual “constructive feedback” aside from “this entire thing is bad and should be scrapped”: As others mentioned, this kills pill packets for roles with no medical skill, since injector is 3 doses and pills are 4 doses… but pills are absent from any medical vendors, so you are not getting a resupply of this stuff, while you can both refill and just vend injectors.
Ironically enough this also kills injector and pouch loadouts for medics because the injectors aren’t instant, unless you go to research for ez injectors as a fucking medic.
The whole PR just highlights how bad and annoying CM medical is for a normal marine, because everything just slowly got strangled with its upsides being removed. Originally the choice was simple - you take a pill bottle for storage, or injectors for instant administration. Then injectors were no longer instant and pill bottles gained child-proof locks (how funny in our serious RP server).
If medical got unfucked so that marines could just get normal injectors again and use pill bottles, UNGA would be a niche thing that people sometimes make for preference or just to fill pouches instead of the staple that constantly gets demanded by marines.
It’s hard to be positive about this or even take it seriously as a good faith change until and unless the other parts of the supposed rework show up on github, and even then having chemicals overdose people for taking them in ways that realistically reduce their effectiveness is an awful choice.
Ignwe and I tested out Sleen, drinking it made me OD on it..
Devin Lord and I also tested eating pizza and stew, you could OD on eating Imi…
I don’t play a ton of corpsman but man, I understand getting rid of or nerfing UNGA but it really compounds and fucks up the rest of medical. Pills are reduced efficiency, injectors either take time or are reduced efficiency, reviving takes longer either way (time to inject or lessened effect of the mix).
Having the solution to UNGA now be “Corpsman or Marine has to jump through new hoops to get a safe way to use UNGA and end up causing more of a bother than hitting windows because no UNGA tank” is really stupid. Yeah you can make UNGA pills (which a normal marine can’t use) or get them an injector pouch (New issues with injectors, bound to a corpsman, and still having to bother research/medical) but that’s again, a heap of bother and trouble that just replaces the old “DOCTOR I WANT UNGA!!!”.
All in all, I very much believe this is a medical nerf due to reduced chem efficiency and makes Corpsmen have to struggle with an increased and more difficult work load- due to decreased marine capability to self heal and increased times to heal.
