OH GOD, THEY BURST!!!
The larva will try and vent crawl, because they can’t squeeze underneath shuttered doors. Ideally, the marine will have a gun, which you can pick up and use. A scalpel works in a pinch. Don’t let the wiggly noodle stay still long enough to enter the vent.
OH GOD, IT ESCAPED!!!
Make an announcement over general comms that a burst larva escaped from medbay and ask command to set to red. If asked, blame Kaz Smith, they’re clumsy and incompetent. Let the muscleheads kill it, or if they can’t, arm up and either ask engi to weld the vents or do it yourself.*
NOTES:
*The fast way is recommended for late stage bursts (people continuously shaking, stuttering their words, in crit, only able to whisper) but does break the ribcage and damage the patient’s organs, so it’s not recommend to use this way as default.
*Why not weld the vents before you get infected in the medbay in the first place? Because that would be metagaming, Brenda.
*This guide doesn’t tell you how to mend organs/bones/IB. Be sure to look up the relevant steps and don’t leave your patient unhealthy!
