Regarding Adds skirt for officers by TheManWithNoHands · Pull Request #10756 · cmss13-devs/cmss13 · GitHub , which sees to implement skirts as an alternative auxiliary uniform for marine officers.
The author of the PR and I discussed the likelihood for marines to deploy in these skirts, which could lead to a retelling of the synth skirt incident. To avoid the same verdict being placed on this uniform, and having it be relegated to an obscure part of the game or just outright denied, the author and I sought a compromise relying on marine Standard Operating Procedure, the compromise goes as follows:
Seeing the PR’s acceptance, the uniforms allowed in the deployment to an active combat zone (groundside, generally) should be specified.
- Marine officers who wish to deploy will be restricted in what clothing they can use, specifically the Operations Uniform, any Flight Uniform for the DP/GP, or the Chief Engineer’s Jumpsuit. This relegates the Auxiliary Uniform to pencil-pushing/CIC duty only. This is to prevent marine officers from running around an active war zone in ridiculous skirts/service charlies.
- This may extend to lower enlisted, though I have no clue how this would shape up; if the atmosphere of the game doesn’t jive with it, it doesn’t have to pass.
Alternatively, the author also expressed interest in editing the section of text under "Standard issue equipment” regarding where alcohol on the ship is to be stored to clarify that the alcohol restriction concerns “recreational alcohol” specifically, as the text technically incriminates the Ordnance Technician for having a tank of ethanol in his/her possession.
