Squad/Fireteam Leader Tutorial

What kind of things would you like to see in a groundside leadership tutorial? I have a few ideas, but really I want this to be a discussion on what kinds of things should be added

So, most importantly, it should teach what a leader is, what you are expected to do, and give a rough outline of each of the different roles and their job.

Next, go over orders and the trench whistle, show a marine moving with no buff, lower buff, greater buff, same with taking damage on hold and shooting on aim so that you can get a tangible idea of how much each effect is.

Next, pointing at a priority target (small assortment of xenos, point at which is the biggest threat)

Next, radio usage (how to use the radio, radio backpack, maybe a quick 15 second sparknotes on comshubs)

Next, chain of command, presumably by having a pre selected order come in from an officer (alpha squad head north) and then repeating the order and having a marine AI companion follow you north etc.

Next, basic jtac (lasing for a cas strike, getting coords and seeing a supply drop, seeing an example of each roof type)

lastly, cap it off with a simulated battle with riflemen and drones, they follow you, shoot at the bugs you point at and you give them orders, but will die if you dont lead them

I don’t think it needs to be that complex, imo the one thing that needs to be hammered in is how their equipment and orders function, and also make sure that any player that comes out of that tutorial understands the importance of constantly communicating and never shutting up.

A sim battle would be nice but it’s probably a pipe dream for at least the next few years. NPC AI is improving at a decent pace in PvE though, who knows, maybe one day it’ll be possible in PvP (once we get past the horribly optimised AI code)

Also should probably be some kind of warning that “real players aren’t nearly as obedient as these bots, your mileage may vary”

I’d settle for a mixed “ground leadership “ tutorial.

Here’s how to use your designator, here’s how to make a phonecall , here’s your leadership orders menu.

Bonus points “ here is how you set fire teams.”

As amusing as sergeant dornan is you’ll probably get ff’ed less if you employ shit like “closing acknowledgement communications” and updating your herd. Trust is a currency

Sounds like a good idea to me!
