Squad Recomposition Experiment

The server would create a culture, but who cares about culture if which squad you roll is just random like suggested in the well, suggestion.

You can already tell how it’ll work out, because we did this before - fireteams exist, echo squad exists. This isn’t going to work unless you modify the game to make it work. There’s no ā€œwild speculationā€ here as you’re not proposing anything new, it’s obvious how this will turn out and you can see for yourself at any time by trying to make a fireteam or echo squad. Splitting the squads like this would not lead to any more coherency between marines, if anything it would lead to squad comms being worthless as you cannot effectively pass information as a pfc.
The objectives are also unmet at all by this approach, save for modifying squad preps. It even goes contrary to having any ā€œleadership linkā€ because CIC will not be able to handle so many squads at once if it already struggles with 4. And no, SLs will have no more power to ā€œlead, manage or delegateā€ unless you have staff enforce listening to orders as a PFC or expect them to tard wrangle every single guy because that’s all it boils down to. People are perfectly capable of listening and following as it is, they just don’t want to. And while you can lead delta even if only 50% of the marines listen, what are you going to do with a squad of 4?
I dunno if you’re just completely unaware of how the game works or choosing to ignore it in a Walter-esque ā€œlets force it in and then justify changes based on it being thereā€ approach. Needless to say all this idea would lead to - even if temporarily adopted - is an eventual rollback much like techwebs because you do not have the devs to modify the game into something fitting this.

Is this idea gonna get testmerged or did you give up on it?

I think this system is contingent on convincing someone to code it. I also think thwomper had a newer idea to seperate squads into a ā€œassaultā€, ā€œdefensiveā€ and a special task squad.

yea that’s the real idea this was just paving the way for a feedback farm so i could finish the other model
