Description of the incident:

End of round, north boat launches and fails, setting off the usual explosions. I get thrown into the fire after unbuckling to extinguish. While I am dead, I watch the CMO and DCC treat a downed marine who had also been ablaze. Several forsaken xenos enter and exit the lifeboat doing hit and runs. I also hear predator laugh and roar emotes. As I watch, the CMO begins defibbing the downed marine and about halfway through a predator enters, grabs the CMO, and runs south and then west while dragging the CMO. The revive fails as a result. Several marines peruse, and eventually the CMO reenters, still wounded. The CMO resumes defibbing the downed marine and I try to examine the predator for a name, only getting the usual unknown placehold before I am revived. I exit the lifeboat and stand guard to the south-west, typing up an insult for the predator. Please note that I am somewhat impaired at the moment, so it is likely that I got some details wrong or failed to notice something. I consulted with a predator player I trust in the post round discord chat and they agreed that it seemed to be against the spirit of the whitelist and that I should contact a councilor. I’m reporting instead because my head is spinning and I don’t know how long I’ll remain coherent.

Description from while ghosted.

Hello, this seems to be my Yautja that you are currently reporting, Zi’Stra Nhon.

As I remember I had only recently returned back groundside with no knowledge that a lifeboat had crashed. Once I had seen that there was in fact a lifeboat, as well zero Xenomorphs actively antagonizing those aboard the lifeboard, I played various voice-clips, roars, clicks, in order to gather people’s attention. I’m prone to dragging a character out, and then throwing them around to startle the hornet’s nest, but I never damage the character that I have quickly dragged and promptly allow them to, or personally return them. I usually do not attack people at first sight thus I draw them out for either roleplay or a bout.

As for the CMO, I did not examine them at first sight, no. I had made an assumption that this was just another marine that was wearing a set of armor. Nor did I pay attention to if there was a body around currently being revived. Had I known that there was, I would not have dragged that player out to begin with seeing as they are unhuntable.

The fighting ensued from that point on, and I did not make a move to harm the CMO nor did I actively step foot in the lifeboat again or target people inside of it. I goaded people out, the UPPs with my presence alone and continued to fight.

This seems to be a misunderstanding on my end, and I do apologize for the sudden disruption in revivals if that were the case, but I meant no ill-harm to any medically roled player in that moment.

Hi, I was the CMO that round. I was indeed taken away from the ship for no reason. I do not remember if i emoted when i saw the pred, but i was in fact using the defib on a downed player. I have not provoked the pred at all, unless staring at it is some kind of intimidation tactic now.

It did not disturb my work, however, i got the same marine back up right after i came back to the ship with no issues after that. That was my only interaction with the pred, if I recall. Not sure if anyone permad because of that interaction but i have seen at least 3 perma corpses east of the lifeboat. But i doubt i could have helped anyway.

Hello, I hope you’re having a good day. I’m the Senator of the Yautja whitelist and the council has voted on this report.

Whilst it is accepted, as CMOs/medical staff in general are unhuntable it is practically impossible to punish somebody for as little as this; an honest mistake that they corrected themselves and admitted to it.

Facts are:

  1. The CMO was dressed in marine attire
  2. Player presumed they were just a yet another marine, abducted them and returned them; correcting their mistake and later admitting it on this very thread.
  3. No real harm was done.
  4. It was just a mistake, again.

Council has decided that this report is to be ACCEPTED, and the player be given a VERBAL WARNING.

I’m sorry to hear that the CMO was the victim of the easy to make mistake, but punishing the Yautja in question would be against our values as a community at least in our opinion.
