Survivors shouldn't have access to blue fire molotovs.

The title is self-explanatory, but I’ll explain why.

Survivors right now are in a… bad state. Thankfully, there are plans to rework them in the future.

The xenomorph meta against survivors is to drone rush them. Drone rushing survivors is a huge gamble in general, and it really depends on the skill of the drones themselves. But it’s the best thing xenomorphs can do against survivors.

Though many don’t find drone rushing fun, given how a sizeable amount of xenomorphs prefer to afk in the hive. I don’t either. I don’t like having to immediately go drone and to shove myself against a survivor who may have a shotgun and can stun me to death. And I imagine survivor players hate being two tap tackled against a drone 30 seconds after they loaded into the world.

If the hive fails at drone rushing? Survivors are rewarded with a lot of cades, and worse of all, blue fire molotovs.

Survivors already get a lot of cades and fire. Fighting survivors essentially becomes like mini FOB siege, but worse of all you don’t have tier 3s until 15 minutes later, when during that time marines are prepping to land.

Blue fire molotovs aren’t fun and engaging, tier 2s literally cannot push them at all. They do immense damage, and even patting them hurts a lot. At least with normal fire it’s not as bad for xenomorphs. Oh and did I mention that survivors get a lot of cades?

Blue fire reinforces the problem with fighting survivors, with that problem being that you have to wait for tier 3 to be able to even punish their cade holds. And then it becomes a race on the clock, hoping the XO sends marines planetside on time before the survivors rot or are capped.

I think survivors would be more fun if you were able to breach their holdings during tier 2 easier, BUT they could also be nimble and make clever flanks or rotations and make a new holding.

For people who just survived a brutal xenomorph infestation, survivors shouldn’t have access to one of the most powerful sources of fire in the game. It’s unnatural, and unfair to xenomorphs, considering xenomorphs don’t even get tier 3s until 15 minutes into the round. Blue fire is already a pretty rare commodity for marines. And for survivors to be able to get those tools? Yuck.

This will be my last feedback post for a while, and I mean it. But I like CM13 a lot, as you can tell.

Without it xenos will wipe before 15 tbh

when was the last time you saw a bluefire molly because according to Kivts it should already be fixed

blue fire molotov is a side effect/oversight of a backend change to fire calculations as part of the research rework

They are in the game as of now. And survivors have been using them.

normalize Defenders+Spitters to breach with T2s, this is a hivewide skillissue trying to facetank against cades as Woy/Lurker is idiotic.

come now, we are in it for the T3s so we got to use the tools on hand. but yes, their are MUCH better ways to deal with Surv holds but the hive make plans for fighting the USCM the surv are more so a after thought when it comes to picking your caste.

Spitters are genuinely death to survs and it’s insane how underutilized they are. Tall standing and repairing? Empowered spit, walk up and line up a sprite click, force them off it. Cades don’t have acid on them? Line spit. Survs built wide enough they can’t hold every section at once? PUNISH. PUNISH. FULLY ACID A SECTION OF 3-4 CADES AT ONCE AND THEN LINE SPIT THEM FOR NEARLY DOUBLE THE DAMAGE!

I love Spitter for sieging, it’s ridiculous.

Bonus evo exists and queen can force devo those who hivesleep to steal slots if they order hive to aid against survivors.

I see. So it will be fixed. All good. Should be solved in time.

Survivors sadly have to rely on molotovs to even have a chance of surviving these days.

Easy solution is to remove molotovs and give survivors 5 endurance again. :slightly_smiling_face:

What’s endurance?

Endurance is a Skill just like Engineering or JTAC or Surgery. The gist of it is that it represents how resistant you are to fractures and internal damages like IB and to organs. Survivors used to have high Endurance so they could roam and fight more since a frac is a death sentence to a roaming survivor; now, we have the meta of mostly cading turtle survivors because roamers need to be the top 5% of fraggers to not get swarmed by taking a fracture and slowing down.

Fun Fact: The Loader pamphlet from the Demolitions Specialist grants +1 Endurance. Ostensibly, so when their Demo hits them, they don’t frac. Still confused on that one, but it’s fun. Probably the only(?) Endurance gain via pamphlet in the game.

It also reduces stun times.

The problem with spitter is not many want to go boiler or devolve and miss out on tier 3 as a consequence.

Spitter haters need to realize it can evolve to Praetorian, the single most versatile and best caste in the entire video game. Tell me a caste that’s as multifunctional as base Prae for siege, Oppressor for caps, Valkyrie for Specialist no-selling, and Vanguard for dodge tanking and glass cannon damage output.

It doesn’t necessarily do everything the best, but it can basically fulfill everything except support without Transmutation and too few people learn all the strains (except dancer lol dancer I want to love you but I can’t) to use the strain swaps to change roles.

Survmain here. I decided to give xenomains the benefit of the doubt, and played nothing but xeno for a month during my surv ban a while back. I came to the conclusion that most xenomain complaints are entirely bogus. The most annoying feature was being unable to weed certain areas, but that was fixed when they implemented the weedkiller bomb at the start of the operation. I don’t really want to say what xenos should be doing differently cuz I don’t want to help them crush surv mains, but there are easy ways of getting around booze. Sometimes you get robusted if survs roll a bunch of good players, but that happens. It really is a skill issue imo.

Molotovs are completely fine, I just took issue with blue fire molotovs. Apparently it was patched out though.
