The title is self-explanatory, but I’ll explain why.
Survivors right now are in a… bad state. Thankfully, there are plans to rework them in the future.
The xenomorph meta against survivors is to drone rush them. Drone rushing survivors is a huge gamble in general, and it really depends on the skill of the drones themselves. But it’s the best thing xenomorphs can do against survivors.
Though many don’t find drone rushing fun, given how a sizeable amount of xenomorphs prefer to afk in the hive. I don’t either. I don’t like having to immediately go drone and to shove myself against a survivor who may have a shotgun and can stun me to death. And I imagine survivor players hate being two tap tackled against a drone 30 seconds after they loaded into the world.
If the hive fails at drone rushing? Survivors are rewarded with a lot of cades, and worse of all, blue fire molotovs.
Survivors already get a lot of cades and fire. Fighting survivors essentially becomes like mini FOB siege, but worse of all you don’t have tier 3s until 15 minutes later, when during that time marines are prepping to land.
Blue fire molotovs aren’t fun and engaging, tier 2s literally cannot push them at all. They do immense damage, and even patting them hurts a lot. At least with normal fire it’s not as bad for xenomorphs. Oh and did I mention that survivors get a lot of cades?
Blue fire reinforces the problem with fighting survivors, with that problem being that you have to wait for tier 3 to be able to even punish their cade holds. And then it becomes a race on the clock, hoping the XO sends marines planetside on time before the survivors rot or are capped.
I think survivors would be more fun if you were able to breach their holdings during tier 2 easier, BUT they could also be nimble and make clever flanks or rotations and make a new holding.
For people who just survived a brutal xenomorph infestation, survivors shouldn’t have access to one of the most powerful sources of fire in the game. It’s unnatural, and unfair to xenomorphs, considering xenomorphs don’t even get tier 3s until 15 minutes into the round. Blue fire is already a pretty rare commodity for marines. And for survivors to be able to get those tools? Yuck.
This will be my last feedback post for a while, and I mean it. But I like CM13 a lot, as you can tell.
