Synthetic Info:

Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:

Mitch

Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory

After noticing the lack of productive employees within W-Y space ports and warehouses, Weyland-Yutani has launched the line of a third generation synthetic model designed to assist and operate within cargo bays on colonies, space ports and urban warehouses, capable of operating forklifts, industrial machinery to offload heavy haulers and even maintenance on rovers. Shortly after implementing this synthetic model, the spike in efficiency and profits the colonies yielded was noticeable. The synthetic project worked.

This success opened a lot of doors, allowing for more precise handling of sensitive or fragile materials with minimal damage and full transparency of what happens within these warehouses and space ports.

These synthetics have also made the line of work considerably easier, resulting in more colonists beginning to work within these environments due to less work load for the same pay, profiting off the extended assistance of the synthetics by doing less for the same amount of money from the Corporation.

“Every delivery, handled fast and in pristine condition.” Slogan made by Weyland-Yutani for the Mitch generation three synthetic line, 2181.

Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions

Mitch is a synthetic holding an interest with foreign technology and beings, possessing the tendency to document them and more of the unknown. He’s said to be quite cheerful, described as pleasant to talk with due to his patient tone and the occasional snack or piece of candy he carries, either eating it himself or offering it to someone. Though composed and serious when it comes to important matters and his various duties, his style striving to match the day and his surroundings, with some additional changes, originating from his personal taste.

How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?

Mitch would interact with these individuals in varying ways, with enlisted personnel being often referred to by their rank, he’d usually offer a snack to them as they’ll be rather chatty depending on the situation around them, or in-the-field information of various lifeforms and signs of what is what.

As for civilians, he’ll refer to them with their last name, that being the only difference between civilians and enlisted personnel, possessing the same cheerful tone and distribution of snacks and candy if need be, let it be for nutritional reasons or simply an effort at comforting in stressful situations, possibly sharing his discoveries and studies of xenobiological life and technology.

When it comes to commissioned officers though, he’d be more serious when it comes to important matters, holding off on his usually cheerful personality, aiming towards practicality over small comforts and chit-chats, instead he’ll remain patient and attentive, often revealing the information they have gathered when it offers an actual advantage during the operation.

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

I have thought of applying for synthetic for a while already, shortly after being accepted into the Yautja WL, the contributing factor is the roleplay potential, one that is much more different than yautja roleplay, which is why I’m aiming for this whitelist, for other opportunities.

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

Usually it boils down to the synthetic survivor role, let it be surviving alongside them or simply processing and interacting with them as shipside staff, I would say the same about Working Joes, as they are interesting to see in a round, especially when they’re unique to the round due to how rarely you see them. I don’t have much to add as I didn’t really interact with a lot of synthetics lately.

Synthetic Character Story:

Skills:

How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?

Command is currently the least of my experiences, though I have the knowledge in the CIC terminals and OB reloading. Medical is up next, I memorized most or even almost every surgical procedure when it comes to shipside and groundside treatment, and when it comes to chemistry, I’m capable of quickly making chemical mixes. Engineering is the second support role I’m good in, with APC maintenance, communications restoration and barricading FOBs or other structures. I’m still doubting myself when it comes to requisitions though. I’m able to maintain the req-line and supply drops on the basis, though I do tend to send too much ammunition sometimes.

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

non-human of hostile factions is one of the examples, like CLF, xenomorphs or even UPP, as marine law doesn’t apply to them. I’d be allowed to pacify the hostile or even kill them when involving vulnerable or wounded USCM personnel, though the boundary would be acting as a direct combatant, due to synthetics being support staff.

Facehuggers are another example, I would be allowed to point them out or kill them when too close to wounded marines yet you wouldn’t be allowed to directly hunt or seek out facehuggers.

Moving around the backline or FOB with a small survivor group, marines or even alone. Mitch would be allowed to defend himself and other lives though he’d have to play defensively, avoiding any chases that could compromise Mitch or the human lives, continuing treatment or defending said humans.

Synthetic survivors of colonies condemned to the XX-121 infestations or other takeovers would be allowed to engage hostiles at will due to delta alert programming within each synthetic to uphold self preservation, though this’ll still be restrained for upholding the integrity of the colony, other possible survivors and even yourself. This means that I wouldn’t be able to engage in a chase.

When the rare mutiny happens, you’d be allowed to utilize non-lethal equipment and strategies to prevent the mutineers from breaking into the Combat Information Center, though your focus would be to ensure safety of the Commander and his staff.

And finally, when it involves defensive positions such as the FOB or other fully fortified positions, you’re allowed to repel whatever or whoever is attacking the position without putting the position or other personnel in danger, if they are retreating however, you shouldn’t chase them out beyond the fortifications.

+1 nice player with good RP.

I’ve had many interactions with Randy Pratt as both a marine and a mentor. I believe their RP abilities are up to the task, and their mechanical abilities are good as well.

+1 my man has given me tips on how to become better in the RP district of applying for yautja, and the general willingness to RP both on PVP and CM PVE I’ve seen him do absolute peak stuff

Your synth is in a bar and is being peer-pressured to chug a pint. How would your synth respond?

Your synth is alone in a desert. What would be the first thing they’d bring to help them survive??

Your synth encounters a crime scene, 2 dead, clearly a murder suicide; however, the murder weapon is missing, and your synth is being blamed for the crime. How would your synth try to wiggle out of the situation?

^ These questions might seem odd, but answer them i’ll explain why I asked them after.

He’d try to explain to the ones blaming him that he wouldn’t have been able to do it, either through mentioning his programming, potential witnesses, alibis or even the wound being self inflicted, stating he’d be unable to cause any harm towards himself or humans without being in clear contradiction of his synthetic programming, even proposing a diagnostic check or other methods of verifying his wellbeing among them.

A map. A map of the colony, planet, sector, wherever the desert is. Being able know in which direction you’d go would help a lot, especially if there are landmarks present within the desert, allowing Mitch to hopefully reach any form of civilization in or around the desert.

Being the social synthetic Mitch is, he’ll try to politely refuse, citing possible damages involved in drinking the pint, he doesn’t know if it’ll damage him in any way, but he won’t test it to found out. Though if they keep trying to pressure him into drinking it, he’d take a few sips and likely give up half-through, unable to finish the rest. He’s not at all a drinker…

The answers might be vague or short, but I wasn’t ready for such unusual questions, I hope it suffices.

Don’t worry, they’re intended to be.

You are going to have LRP Marines. In your experience as a Synth, they will try to egg you on to do things that would be against the guidelines. What I’m really asking here is how your synth can manage odd situations that are untypical of a synth to be in. More importantly, I wanted to see how you think about it - and here is something for you, the comparison i was making, was to the bishops knife scene. Synths are allowed to do things to can be seen as very informal, casual, and flaunt. Your response tells me two things, one - you think synths as ‘robots’ first, which is fine, they are robots, im not going to deny that, but synths are not written as robots, but characters, people. You don’t need to follow strict, idk how to put this into better words, but you dont need to strictly think your character as a robot - the character is first, the robotic stuff is secondary to compliment the complexities of that character. Secondly Synths can eat and rink with out any issues

If you do get the WL, what I do encourage is breaking the ice, of that distinction, getting caught up in the details of things, and not role playing a character can hold you back.

This one is quite an odd one, but the reason I ask - is because I want to see what your synth, cares about first. Really, any object works fine here so long as it fit the character. I wanted to quickly see if you can think your synth as an other than yourself.

While yes, synths are not permitted to harm humans, it is against their programing, Marines are quick and easy to call a synth rouge, and you’ve got to be quick on your feet to think of a defense, that gets you out of trouble. Sure, programing can work - but, your rouge to the marines, they don’t care for programing, they just want to shoot you at that point. What I’m really asking here, is have you thought about how your synth can argue for its own existence without referring to the guidelines or programing. Thinking past the “robot first character second” idea.

These questions wont really affect votes, I just wanted to pry into your head about how you treat your characters and your synth.

+1 is a very good player and someone that I’ve seen do very well. I haven’t interacted much with them. But I had seen them do good work.

I don’t want to be that guy, but…

One of the rules from the voting guidelines, while I do appreciate the +1, I doubt it’d be of use to the council
