Description of the incident:

I made a mistake as SL but I am learning with the new ASS system. I rolled Charlie SL with only 4 members during peak hours. The briefing was split into two so half the squads were north and half were south for the briefing. The Col gave an initial order of Charlie supporting the front line (but then updated a second order later in the briefing) which I realized later.

I start setting up cades behind the front line for fall back lines and to combat backliners. I get pinged by an admin asking why I am not following orders. I tell them that I am following the orders which was the first order given by the Col. After talking to the admin and looking through the logs I figure out another one was given later in the brief (these orders are completely different than the first one given). Comms were down this whole time and I have a com backpack but got no calls from any leadership so I had no idea anything was wrong until the admin ping. I explain this to the admin and they didn’t believe me. I am then told I am lying about the first order. This is all happening while I am still SL and trying to direct the squad. I have not been demoted and no ASL has been assigned. There was only 5 of us.

I was able to prove I wasn’t lying by going through the chat log during the game while also trying to play and make the correction immediately to follow orders. I immediately head to dynagrid which was the second set of orders given. I was never trying to disregard orders. I never said these orders suck, “I know better” “Command is dumb” anything that would suggest I am not RPing on purpose or trying to disobey orders. The ticket is closed and I am noted.

This is all going on during the game and after we get to dynagrid me and the other Charlie members get immediately wrecked by 5 backline xenos this whole time I am still SL. We get saved and I make sure to head back to the ship to cryo so I don’t become a cap and the round can progress without me making a negative consequence.

I Get noted for rule 2 and am not happy I was accused of lying. I am not interested in SL anymore after this experience.
I have over 90 hours of SL 360 hours with marines and 540 hours with xenos, over 100 hours as Queen.

I have not ever been noted at any point until now. I have talked to an admin before when I had a bad CAS shot my first time as GP but they were understanding of the situation.

I take the game seriously and never try to defy orders or troll in a round. I love this game which is why the note bothers me so much. After talking to others I decided to make this post.

I will be posting the admin ticket I copied below.

Howdy, management has given this a gander. Ultimately, the onus falls to Squad Leaders to keep themselves apprised of orders. Your recordkeeping note shall be sustained. Keep in mind, your note is just that—for recordkeeping. It is not a punishment. I sincerely hope it doesn’t dissuade you from playing Squad Leader, but there is a reason why we take the role so seriously, rules-wise.
