Description of the incident:

I want to first state this isn’t to get anyone in trouble, and I do not wish any true consequences for this, especially since it feels like a lot of different preds do this, but it has happened enough times that I want a true ruling on it.

In many rounds in the hunting grounds, including this one, the UPP engineer will spawn and have their comrade sentry. I’ve seen it go multiple ways, either breaking it while invis, destroying it at range, or HPCing it. This round after killing a Youngblood with a freelancer while next to the sentry(the sentry walled off a line of attack more than actually ever hit the youngblood), the present Elder to the Youngbloods HPCed me, the freelancer, and the sentry all together, killing us nearly instantly without any way of ever healing/recovering from it.

I can understand that it sucks to fight against a sentry, especially in the hunting grounds, especially if it is teaching youngbloods how to pred(though I’ve seen/been part of non-youngblood hunts in the hunting grounds that have HPCed it as well). I have even personally gotten raked by one as a Youngblood myself. Currently, it just feels like the sentry and the UPP engi is just entirely bait. Either one side is upset that they have to fight against a multi-faction with a sentry covering an entire line of attack, or the other is upset that they get insta-killed or get the unique part of their kit unavoidably destroyed. If the hunting grounds sentry is so hated by the preds I would rather it just be removed instead of being HPC bait. If it does stay in the spawning loot then any kind of rules of engagement for it would be nice to have so if it does keep happening, in whatever capacity is deemed fair, then at least it is written down somewhere so we can’t complain about it. Thank you for your time and I apologize if this was somewhere the whole time and I never noticed it though I did not see anything searching in the discord/honor code.

Hello, I am the reported Yautja in question.
I view turrets as an add on challenge that each individual pred can decide whether or not to take. I myself tend not to because more often than not I am using a weapon on the weaker side and due to the UPP engineer spawning with AP mags for their gun, which is considered by many, one of the best weapons to fight preds in the reserve.

Now to add more context, I summoned 2 Youngbloods who were sent down to hunt their mark, one of them was fighting your group of 3 and got quickly killed not being able to change direction of attack nor really dodge since the only open passage was a 2 tile death trap covered by the merc who had a MAR50.
The other YB was going to have to fight the same group so I Lethal Castered the turret the first time which I considered a warning enough that I would do so again. You ran north to it, so I left you be in case you wanted to deactivate it and to not kill you with another.

Later I saw the turret was still up so I decided to warn you verbally with the translator before seeing you welding it, while you clearly knew what happened to it earlier. I then castered it until it broke which did cause the death of the two of you due to your close proximity to it.
Overall my goal was not to kill you, but in my mind I gave ample warnings that I would get rid of the turret and that your close proximity would be fatal to you, which is why I used the caster the way I did.

Turret Position:

Full clip will be uploaded by someone else hopefully since forums won’t let me.

Apologies, I think I either left view distance or was distracted as I don’t remember seeing a message from you. The shooting it before hand and the verbal warning I missed definitely make it better than most of the interactions I’ve had surrounding it, with some just castering it on sight regardless of people next to it. With how strong it is, especially with the AP UPP weapon I can definitely understand doing as much and I appreciate you giving much more warning than most. Though if the UPP engi is already strong and the turret itself also is, then it might just be best for the removal of it from the spawn kit.

Hello and thank you for the report.

As you know, turrets are dishonorable and can be destroyed using dishonorable tools. Zanfee gave you a warning and plenty of time to leave the turret and I double checked to see if you were within range to hear him and you were based on the video that was provided.

You continued to repair the turret and so Zanfee destroyed the turret with their HPC.

The council has decided to Decline this report and will take no action on Zanfee since we can confirm that they did not intend to kill you with dishonorable tools or break the spirit of the whitelist in any way.
