Description of the incident:
At around 1.5 hours into the round I run through broken sandtemple to central beach to attack and harass marines.
South central I briefly attack a marine before moving towards Containers hearing an explosion.
I find a Nhon shooting out stuns while dragging a marine away. I retreat back the way I came from, just outside sandtemple but stop to gawk and look at the two as Nhon drags the marine past, the same way I just came from.
However Nhon then stuns me without cause resulting in my death, as there was a half dozen or so marines 6 or so seconds behind Nhon.
I wasn’t blocking them or attempting to charge or attack, nor did I take hostile action. Nor was I inbetween Marines chasing them.
The closest thing I did was attempt to pounce a tall earlier before I recognized Nhon was engaging marines on beach.
Apologies, I was led to believe by a player in dchat it was you. By the time I attempted to check around 1 minute later it was personally impossible to tell which.
I updated the report since I was the one who did this. Not strob.
I do want to apologize for getting you killed but that was not my intention. I grabbed a marine off the front since they had a clan mask. It was an easy grab and I nabbed the gear holder without any issues to the marine front.
Once I started grabbing the marine I saw one of two runners running south into the temple. Unfortunately, I didn’t have anywhere else to run too since south west would lead me into hydro where there are active people watching it with the possible threat of claymores and my direct south was blocked off by a grand resin wall. So I decided to follow you into the sandstone temples and after seeing two runners present I assumed you were going to ambush me so I stunned you and the other runner ran away.
I stunned you because I didn’t want to be interrupted while getting the gear and I didn’t want this guy I took off the front to be killed or captured since I took them into the xeno backline. I wasn’t aware that I was being hunted by a group of marines at the time so I took what looked like the safer option to make the gear recovery move smoother with no losses to xenos or marines. That was the plan anyways.
This is the choice that I had to make in the heat of the moment. I’m not saying you would or even planned too but If both runners jumped me and tried to steal the person I stole then It would be a lot more difficult to recover the gear cleanly with me trying to get the gear back and then the hunting party coming from behind with white fire and it would have ended with five total marines being dead since research made weapons are dishonorable.
In the end, I do firmly believe that I chose the lesser of the two evils after being put in a corner trying to get gear.
Understandable, however you created such a stir taking the Marine while among say a dozen or more of them it would without question result in a small group(this time it turned into a horde) of them chasing to either save or (in there minds) recover the soon to be dead marine.
Personally I didn’t at the time see a second runner, nor do I in the recording. There might have been a runner in the temple at the edge of your vision, but that doesn’t necessitate and is uncommonly means coordinated attack is incoming by xenos, especially when they aren’t actively grouping/moving together in the backline.
While runners and xenos will attack Yautja either exploiting small vulnerabilities like this or completely randomly/unprovoked, in this situation it could only harm the xeno to attack you, as you were obviously going to be chased after witnessing your actions.
Even in more favorable conditions, the most likely outcome is the Xeno being harmed by you, or the Marines and would likely aid the Marines, as interfering with hunts to the benefit of a Marine is almost always detrimental to the Hive.
Of course I or another Xeno can do it anyways, but they would then expect to be stunned, attacked, hunted or killed for doing so, not witnessing or waiting for the situation to pass to continue backlining.
Hello,
We will be accepting this report and issuing a verbal warning to the whitelistee in question as the death of the runner was not intentional.
For future reference:
The actions made by the whitelistee would have been acceptable if either the runner in question made an effort to engage the yautja during the gear recovery or there was no threat that would cause the runner to die.
Mistakes happen.
