I hope my synth application didn’t cause your retirement. I know it had some bad parts but I didn’t think it was THAT bad.
Honestly, I did look to see how the council actually works on the forums and failed to find the information. I wasn’t sure if just being an accepted synth means you have any say for synths. For instance, do they get a vote on rule changes/who gets to be a synth, or is that council only?
Do all council members get equal voting power? What about ties? Is there a minimum amount of members for decisions on voted things, in the instance too many members are away? For rule changes, does one member put them up and others vote on it?
For your laptop, if you mean games: I recommend obra dinn if you havnt heard of it before. For software: open office and notepad++ are the only ones that come to mind this late. In the past I would also recommend avast anti-virus but, that has turned into its own malware in the past 5 years.

LMAO no I had been planning to do this since like a month ago but didn’t feel like I ever had the ‘right time’ to do it
A whitelisted synthetic has no rights really or council representation other than the potential to be offered a position by the council. Though they may sometimes be asked their thoughts en mass about certain policies sometimes in the channel
Pretty much how it works is someone sees a report or an application and makes a discord thread with the appropriate title like Report: Johnwarhammer RID 28171 - Self Preservation then a forum link or alternatively video/information for internal report (which is when a council member witnesses something mostly)
We have a period of discussion and our Senator (the true head of the whitelist) calls a vote, we each have one vote in a discord poll that goes on for 24 hours but is usually closed faster, most votes are entirely unanimous though.
Though to be clear the council is an advisory body for a Senator, he can choose to ignore our votes if he was so inclined. We only have as much authority as is given to us by the Senator.
In terms of rule changes, pretty similar process but in a different channel and lengthy discussion, less likely to have votes over proceedings like that though because the final call is Rob’s.
There is no minimum vote for members, ties would be broken by Rob.

Don’t ask silly questions. Admins secret note people they would erp with and rate them from 0 to 10. Would not recommend.

With my cynical approach to many things such as councils, I am glad that this happened and will always be here as testament that the mighty “council knows better than admins” has fallen and I hope it will never raise again as it is dangerous without a doubt.
I can only ask of you to check the game from time to time, just to glance with your watchfull eye on councils. Such plague was able to brew under many important guys noses, this is bound to happen again.
That’s fascinating, I always thought the councils had actual power, rather than literally just being an advisory body.
I guess it makes sense though, having literally democratic voting would be a massive pain in the ass and it’s better to have one authority in charge of rulings rather than 8 potentially conflicting voices. We don’t need politics in CM

Uhh another fun fact is that councils do not get log pulling ability (the mods in the council do that for us) or anything ingame other than cosmetics (pred council gets a special announcer to tell preds to stop fucking up but we didn’t have anything like that as synth)
uhh what else, the synth council USED to be a different discord and was merged into the maincord about 3 months ago
oh yeah the councils do not share individual council talks but do have a unified channel (mostly for shitposting)
there’s a super secret Council Pets channel where they post cat and dog pics that you can’t see
