It feels weird to say but with the more or less death of charlie squad, I’ve been needing to replace that sense of community it brought me, and I kinda get it from the xeno mains that I see from round to round.

I just had a round where I played rav, and got kills, was effective, had a lot of fun, then got bodyblocked and died to a feral acid pillar/hivelord combo during hijack
I decided out of curiosity to re read the rav’s wiki page mid game and found out that the dash does nothing unless you are super empowered, and you can ONLY be super empowered via the second usage of the ability, and there has to be three targets for it to proc.
So that explains why every time i have tried to charge a marine I just got kited and shot to death… I will report back with my findings once i have actually super dashed someone

Otherwise I have been playing SS13 since 2008 and CM since it was Kittyhawk Colonial Marines.
The thing about base rav, it’s that it’s very tanky.
Like surprisingly tanky.
The general gist of a Base Ravager is as follows:
The worst part is that a marine can dodge/you can miss your charge and you end surrounded marines, while your EMPOWER runs out and you can’t charge away. That’s when you die. Or when they rush you.
But yeah, I love talking with xeno mains in a forum, it means that I can explain my things without being lost in discord.

also I survived the entire round without dying which as a rav is a first for me yippe
going to give a huge shoutout here to TM-142 a new queen ( I dont know how new, or how new in general) who took the hive from absolutely flatlining on an ice round, where marines were ungaballing and wiping out the hive, with 4 members left, to with some guidance, surviving, rotating around, making a new hive, getting crucial caps, and somehow
surviving the unga onslaught, pushing fob, killing literally everyone on the ground (we had no T2s at this point, our only carrier had died earlier), hijacking alamo, and delivering us a xeno major victory on a platter. They learned how to properly screech, neuro, build special resin, hijack, and fight as queen despite a ruthless sadar/pyro combo.
They are what all new queen players aspire to be, they are…..robust.
I am a filthy xeno main, have been since I started playing the game, and I’ve never so much as touched Ravager because it’s so overpowered. Not only because I know at least some of that power comes from skill and thus my lack of it with the class would make me look laughably bad, but because I don’t really wanna be part of the problem. Plus I find the other T3s more fun in their own way rather than W+M1ing my way through the marines.
Also apologies to SOM6 for not being able to get your boiler on the round we just played but I blinked and you went from standing to exploded. Fire is rough on boily boys.

If you think Ravager is W+M1ing you are sooo wrong. It’s all about positioning and playing Chess. You need to be extremely situationally aware, you need to know who the good marine players are, you need to know what weapons they are using and what they will do.
People complain about ravager being OP and I truly do not see it. It might be be the best T3, but that’s because every other T3 is simply weak as fuck.

Every other T3 is weak because of how overpowered Ravager is. The assassin evolution line ends in something with insane damage output for a xenomorph on top of tankiness and sustainability that far eclipses any other caste, possibly even the queen itself since she doesn’t get any fancy damage reflection like Hedgehog Rav does. The only downside to Ravager is not knowing how to use it, and once you do learn even the basics you’ll already be able to outperform basically anything else in the hive aside from the queen herself in terms of round impact. If the other T3s were even close to what Ravager is, then for once the marine mains would actually be correct about complaining about how powerful the xenos are, because Prae and Crusher being as strong as Ravager is without Ravager getting any nerfs would undoubtedly be the most unbalanced in the xeno’s favor the game has been…well, since I started playing certainly.

I do miss the old glory days of 2018 era crusher where your stomp would be a mini screech that made crusher ubiquitous.

Every xeno in the hive placed themself in one tile and see a blob of marine force walk half past it and the marines turned into panic mode.
The first time global pheromone was tested it was so strong recovery that queen rested outside lv caves and rested. Every single marine stood around her trying to kill her. But it never happend. (Miss you symbio queen)
I miss and don’t miss maturity, because staying alive honestly gave you stims as reward as xeno. Now it honestly gives nothing.
I miss a old moment when me and a old friend xeno dared to stay at a gibbing tile from the dropship. Who would move first? Who would chicken out before it land? We both got gibbed.. stupid and both equal stubborn.
Many times way back i have been talking with a friend just to die to marines because we died mid talking and forgot about drop times.
I miss back the old times. If you meet sentiel t1/ or rav. Or sniping carrier. Honestly every caste was equally all hell to meet. So every caste was equally fun to play.( where is the gif of two marines, one marine got sniped by carrier, and the other was on a window frame thinking fuck that and walked away?)
Was all this fun for marines tho? Well they had broken mechanic, old mou. Double shotty. Who the fuck cares, its a xeno topic.

I mained xeno with ICE as crusher main for years in hope crusher would be fun to play again. I am stubborn, But never happend, even tho hives for years never told me to evolve into that trash. (Me putting on clown makeup on myself)
Hello xeno queens upcoming, if your OCD is so crippling it makes me undo a bunch of work I did because you wanted 3x3 wall blocks over 2x2, you wanted the door for the shell around the core orientated differently, or you want the morpher moved two tiles forward when it really made no difference, please kindly, go drone yourself. I would agree with you more if it was about 1 wide doors, hallway clusterfucks, great walls of xhina. But its not.
