what if xenos could have armor stats that get lost over time due to the ammount of damage they receive making them more weak to damage but it could be regained by using evo points or by using queen skills on them like what if you could use your armor to boost a ravager armor to insane ammounts
also maybe marines could lose their armors and gear protection overtime and need replacement thats aside
What role would this serve? With how you wrote it seems like a dubious nerf for the sake of it while a straight nerf for xenos. There is never a way for you, as a xeno player to engage marines and not take any damage.
I think this would disrupt the current game a bit too much.
Xenos can take enormous damage without actually engaging a target at all. You shouldn’t be further de-incentivized to fight if you take damage as xeno imo, other than the already present and obvious fact of ‘I might die’
This just reminds me of the utterly horrendous armour shredding mechanic. Ah yes, AFKing for 20 minutes because all my armour got deleted. Maturity-esque mechanics my beloved.
the entire hive boost a ravager and ravager wipes out the front and then the weak rest of the hive can push for the rav to regenerate something like a champion boost a normal caste with a king capabilities witouth the skills of one or power of one its basically a way so the hive can use its passive armor regen and hive it to someone else
So it is just worse, more cancerous and more powergamey version of armor mechanics we had in the past, that then regenerated like health, but much slower.
On top of that, if coordinated well enough (which is rather easy, scream for all xenos to come to one spot to boost that rav) and we end up with fire and bullet immune rav that only SADAR, or literal nade spam can stop and nothing else.
We already have a problem with singular players getting too much power.
However with some brain power there is something that can be ironed out of this and that is making xenos more reliant on support castes, mostly drones. What if xenos did lose armor (and fire immunity on ravs and explosion immunity on crushers) on top of health, but every drone strain can fix it with an average plasma cost and small wind up? You could then buff xeno armor a bit to offset them having to worry about it.
But please, god, don’t touch defender armor, make them unique so that they do not lose it, because whole damn caste relies on having armor.
wait thats true ravs are inmune to fire and this would make them more bulletproof… then you add a limit base on caste? MAYBE if you make it so armor its added on body parts so all body parts can hold a boost limit instead and some parts hold less armor being the weaker parts and making it easier to kill em,
if not maybe work around to make it more balanced like making armor overheat the xenomorph getting hit so after so many shots it oveheats dealing damage to health until the xeno is critical due to heat of the armor or reducing health to a limit where it needs extensive healing to recover?
