So, this is my story of my favorite gimmick. Since its being removed I will share it with you all. So, I accidentally discovered how to make a ball of floating light using a glitch. In my defense I thought it was a feature and only found out after an admin told me to stop doing it. So, I shall tell my entire story of the so-called light bomb glitch I named object-52. The method I used to make it will remain a secret just in case they add it back in some form. In case you all call me out for lying I invite people who were there to comment and ask questions. My in-game name is James Bushman.
So, what it was a ball of floating light. You could not touch it, and it looks very alien. It would fill a room with dim red light, but the ball would be white light. The light would even penetrate the walls. Its very sight would cause HRP. Rarely people would think it was an admin spawn. I would tell them in LOOC that it was not. So, what I would do is play researcher. Then say it was for psychological experiment and get CMO approval before making it. I would write a form claiming it was some form of 4D object that could mess with your mind. I figured it was not too out there that this could exist in the alien’s franchise. Be aware xenomorphs are already telepathic. I would say it emitted telepathic waves like xenomorphs. This is my collection of highlights of this gimmick. Be aware these are not in chronological order.
Story- 1.
So, I got some random marine to sign the waver and take part. Me and the CMO were there, and this was one of my first times doing it. The marine stood in the light talking to it. He then shot himself. Turns out I forgot to take his gun away from him. That is some high velocity RP there. But the round ended soon after so that makes sense. From this point I took care to make sure no player could hurt themselves or others. Even if they wanted to, no matter how funny that would be I do not enjoy getting job banned. After that no one died as a result of my experiments.
Story- 2.
This time the CMO was the first to sign up. So, he did not HRP at first. So, I used the emote command to mimic hallucinations. Such as “starts ooze black goo.” I started saying odd things pretending he was just hallucinating it all. Once I detoxed him, he said it had to be fake. I claimed that it was real, and he was just talking to himself the whole time. I RP out showing him footage confirming my claims. The CMO seemed unconvinced and told me to do it again with someone else. I got a mess tech this time. Then a SEA came in saying I did the paperwork wrong. Turns out the subject did not sign his name properly on the consent form. So, I was ordered to get him out. But the mess tech refused not wanting to be separated from the light. After some struggle on his part the MP’s dragged both the subject, me, and the CMO out of there. As I was being dragged away, I said, “I told you it was real CMO.” Anyway, we both got arrested for crimes against humanity and the CMO was not happy. Shame too as he was innocent, but the CO understandably did not believe me.
Story- 3.
This time I got an MP. He did the usual stuff but then hijack stared I left and died he stayed. He wanted to defend the light from the xenomorphs. I died shortly after, and I watched him. He welded himself in and shot at a runner. He talked to the light as if it was his best friend. Saying everything will be fine. Taking time to lay down under it. Nothing unusual people like to lay down under the light for reason and become obsessed with it. The marines activated the self-destruct, and he laid under it saying he knew everything will be okay. He then blew up. Considering how the game works I think the light actually was fine. Well until the round ended.
Story- 4.
This time I was the victim. The CMO was there. He was the same one from story 1. So was the CO as he was called there by the CMO. Only later did I understand that everyone thought it was an admin event. I will admit I probably should have taken that into consideration. So, I claimed it was talking to me even through my protective equipment. I went into the chamber and then RP it took over my mind. I killed a monkey. I did not shoot any humans. The monkey was defib later. So, the CMO declared me insane as I switched back and forth between sanity and insanity. He locked me in the lab cell. The round ended shortly later.
Story- 5.
So, this was the last time I ever did it. So, I was joined by a fellow researcher who took interest. He saw an MT go insane yelling about how it wanted him to show it to people. We flashed him when he tried to cut the wall open. One quick detox later and he was on his way. I then stepped into the chamber myself. The other researcher was over seeing me. I then started to talk with at the end of my sentences to show I was now under its control. After a short time the researcher flashed me and forced detoxed me. It was at this point an admin told me that I was not allowed to do this anymore. This is when I found out it was a glitch. But I decided to keep rolling with the RP even if the light was de-spawned. As its control was fading, I said it showed me horrible things. I did a count down and as soon as I was sane again, I started screaming. The other researchers tried to gauge my mental state, but it was not good. I started rambling insanely claiming I could still see the 4D organism around me. Voices in your head, drawing on the walls, seeing the 4th dimension, learning the lights desire for all that is human and inhuman. You know the usual insanity RP. After a while the researcher deemed me sane enough to be let ago. No idea why he did not call the MP as I was clearly having a moment. We had no CMO by the way. I then did normal hijack things like running around injecting people and yelling stimmed each time.
So, in conclusion this is the highlight of my time with the weird light. It is a shame it is being removed but such is life. I will try to see if I can take this concept and mimic it with something that is within the rules. Also please do not harass the admin for removing this cool glitch.
