I remember the good ol days of auto “the only doctor we really need” docs. @Aces is entirely correct, they have a use. Got someone with crit levels of burn/brute damage but no IB? Autodoc and move on till they’re done. Most of the time, however, medics and FOB docs treat everything thats not a hugged marine.
This. I could see an argument for blood replacement for them, but otherwise way too many people used it as a crutch.

well ,to my knowledge morrow wanted to remove them completely but people wanted them in some form still. I think autodocs as a IV/revive/stasis + kinda thing would be good, but as it stands its an unused piece of medbay.
This is down to people being too lazy to use them. That’s a player problem, not a usefulness problem.
I see techs too lazy to fix APCs all the time etc etc.
Bring back frac fixing and we’re good.

Er, not really, Any job the autodoc does can be done faster and better by either the cryotubes and the IV drip. As a plat CMO holder, let me just say that almost no doctor worth their salt will use the autodoc if they’re thinking straight.

This tbh. If this gets added, it’d make the doc’s job of healing that one dude with a frac on literally every bone in his body that much more bearable.
Had to think about this a lot. Had a lot of diffrent ideas but honesty, the best solution for this is very simpel.
Give the autodoc its old features back.
And make it take for ever to do anything.
The argument it makes docs lazy is correct. So change it from “does surgery for me” to “does a bit of work when i have a line of people.”
Make it take like 30 seconds to fix one frac. Maybe thats a bit too long but you get my point. The autodoc shouldnt be a replacment for doctors. It should be something doctors can use to eas there workload. Best used for when you have like a line of 3 marines waiting. While you work on number 1, the nurse can put number 3 in the autodoc to fix at least some fracs before the doc needs to fix the 78 brain damage.
This is the problem, though. It did take forever. I’m pretty sure I remember one dude took a whole 10 minutes to get all their fracs and organ damage fixed. Albeit, they had a lot of damage already, but this is insane regardless. Even so, the abuse came and the autodoc was removed regardless. As much as I wish the old autodoc came back, it’s clear that the devs don’t want back the way it was, so it seems like we need to find a new approach to the autodoc.
i think making autodoc usable by a person when it go inside without medic or doc assistance would make it useful again…
as in the name you shouldn’t need someone else to use it… specially now seeing how reduce is role is…
One of the surgeries i’d let the autodoc do, is the facial reconstruction one. Just in case a marine or someone shipside wants a facelift after getting their face fucked up.

When i play doc even though it isnt efficient I do facials reconstruction surgery if I have the time. Just to be nice even though it isn’t needed.
Make it where you can disassemble & reassemble the autodoc so that it can be installed in FOB alongside the doc. It being permanently stuck in one spot is a travesty.
