The WhiteList and Joe

Are the Joe free of the WhiteList?
Hello all, as someone who wants to play the Joe, I can’t understand. Why does a synth like this have to be on the white list? I realize that working Joe serve everyone and can be anywhere but the planet. Hazmat in the generator rooms and the Core.
Ok, if he’s on the whitelist. So, to write on it. I’d have to go through all the synths. What’s the point of that?

Joes have incalculable power that is beyond most humans’ comprehension. As such, he can only be allowed wisely to people who know how to harness the power of Joe.

(It’s an HRP role by virtue of being heavily restricted in interactions; has decent stats and gear; and is a fun aside for WLers and admins when they don’t play full-blown synth)

It’s a turn-your-brain-off deal in a similar capacity a combat tech main might want to play maintenance tech for a few rounds and just crowbar barrels on the ship for an hour.

The reason WJ doesn’t have its own whitelist is fairly simple. When WJ was initially added, it was made to be staff-only[1]. Eventually, it got added to the Synth WL as well, largely because synth roughly equals WJ in a lot of senses (also they’re, you know, both synthetic). Because of this, WJ was never considered for its own WL during implementation or afterwards, and I don’t see this changing any time soon. As has been said a million times before, play a basically-mute MT and you’ve roughly got WJ gameplay

  1. This is because WJ was a role meant to do menial junk in-between handling tickets, allowing for a lot of downtime staring at walls. ↩︎

From Ideaguys to Policy Feedback

I have no particular desire to play as either humans or xenomorphs. However, there is still a desire to be Joe.

Just play MT. It’s WJ without the hassle of a bunch of extra guidelines

Just observe hijack when random people get synths to understand why synths are wl.

This is even more so for Joes…you literally have to not react and not be an individual. Which most people cant do.

only synth whitelisted people can get synth ERT rolls

That Joe’s is no different than other Joes, as it’s a cheap unit to do different things. I realize that I will mostly tolerate being attacked myself and not fight back. And I remember that there is a list. Under which Joes can defend the ARES Core and Generators. I don’t really care what I have to do for Joe either way. I’m willing to play for JO and take responsibility for my play either way.
And, i play as Joe Rus CM-SS13. I know, how play. I dont want become HUMAN and Xenomorph, please… Stop talking about. I just want work as JOE.
