Description of the incident:

What actually happened OOC:

As I was walking back from the cleared hive with a corpse of my SL on a rollerbed, I was stunned by the player in question for having the hunting bag, which is okay as far as I know, and I had no issue with it. There were 3-4 marines behind next to me when the predator dragged me away, I screamed for help, but they did not run after me, which i was clearly not happy about, which prompted me to say that they were useless or something along those lines. After moving me from robotics to North LZ around a corner from where i was taken, they stripped the bag from me and threw me back to nearby marines, where a sniper/scout spotted me but didn’t do anything, keeping his distance. All this was fine, but when the predator in question clearly disengaged and proceeded to run away with the bag, I called them a “pussy,” which prompted them to equip their HPC, set it to lethal, and kill me with one shot while i was still stunned on the ground from the initial stun bolt, or something else, but I could not move. They then proceeded to run away and immediately teleport back to their ship. The round ends shortly after.

My entire interaction with the cloaked figure IC (most of this is the same but without any meta elements):

I’m a marine who has in the past hour lost most of his friends and has hit rock bottom. (I know this really seems like a “My character is X, therefore, he can do Y” excuse, and the predator had no idea this has transpired, but this is just context from what previously happened, and had almost no effect on the outcome, other than me being already pretty sad and angry.)
I drag my dead squad leader back to the FOB, or at least I attempt to when I’m suddenly getting gunned down by something with an invisible gun that paralyzes people. Right after that I’m grabbed by the neck and carried away, the marines that were with me doing nothing to help me or attempting to rescue me, which, again, i found annoying.

At this point, the only context for my character is that this creature:

  1. Has some magic gun that paralyzes people, which probably means they can kill anyone they want at any time, and they’re really strong. (Grabbing my neck and choking me almost instantly, then effortlessly carrying me away.)
  2. Ran away from multiple people to avoid conflict and subsequently my rescue. (Which I found cowardly and pathetic.)
  3. It’s invisible, and I have no idea if this is a human or not. (Which i assume it is because you don’t normally see invisible aliens shooting guns at people.)
(Note: As far as i remember, they were invisible the whole time, and if they weren’t, they were in the dark and i couldn’t examine them, giving me no idea who or what this is.)

I only scream locally, and not on comms, because I’m panicking and struggling to be let go, and the nearest marines showed no incentive of following me or actually trying to help.
I’m taken to a dark corner and getting stripped of the odd pouch I found on the beach sands, which I started to use as my magazine belt, as I realized it had more space than my actual ammo belt, and the unknown alien/cloaked man takes it from me.
Then I am thrown back near some other marines, and as it is running away with the cool thing that I thought was mine, I call it a “pussy,” which I probably don’t have to explain what that means, but it’s used to label people as “cowards,” but in my instance it was not in a “do it, no balls” way, as i was angry that they took something special from me.
Then, while I’m still motionless on the ground, briefly after finishing what I said, they move back to me a bit, say nothing, stay in the dark, and fire an explosive at me, killing me instantly.

Why I think this was a sane and reasonable insult due to the circumstances, and why it was an unreasonable reaction from the player:

I stand by my statement that it was an appropriate reaction due to the fact that it LITERALLY RAN AWAY FROM 4-5 MARINES, INCLUDING ME, AFTER RUNNING IN, SHOOTING ME, AND THEN RETREATING WITH THEIR HAND ON MY NECK, DEPRIVING ME OF OXYGEN, AND DRAGGING ME AWAY FROM ANY HELP.

(It does not really matter, since i was already dead by that point, but this “cowardice” was reinforced by the fact that after HPCing me, they proceeded to run away and teleport out almost immediately. It can be argued that they did this due to the fact that they were holding a bag they could not store anywhere, leaving them one-handed, which i understand if thats the case, and this can be dismissed.)

You could argue that calling aliens names should count as LRP, but in this instance, it is COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED. (from my perspective)
But I would do it in both cases, whether they were an alien or not.

Here is my reasoning:

Scenario 1—If I knew it wasn’t human: I still would have called it a coward, as they were running away from gunfire and people with guns like a wild animal, which is a reaction that most animals have that is triggered by FEAR, an emotion that is directly correlated to “being a goddamn coward.” And I’d assume from their amazing grip strength and the insane gun that they have that they aren’t easy to kill, even by multiple marines, as well as from the fact that they were wearing armor of material unknown to me. (We’re also assuming that i examined them and knew what they were wearing.)

Scenario 2—If I didn’t know it was an alien: I STILL would have called it a coward, because, to me, marines are the good guys, and I would assume that the person that is holding me is some kind of enemy of the USCM, aka the bad guys, as they were choking and kidnapping me with no words spoken and running away with what I assumed was MY POSSESSION, which was now USCM property.

If we’re going by scenario 2, which is what I’m going from, and I assume Smiley is too, then I will respond to what they said.

“Also, if some thing just stunned drug me away threw me twenty feet away. I wouldn’t call them pussy.”

I have to reiterate that I have no idea who this is or what faction they belong to. UPP? CLF? Who knows? Definitely not me. Nobody would know when they’re cloaked, which makes them practically invisible. I haven’t interacted with this “thing.” I didn’t hear anything about any “bipedal humanoid aliens.” The only thing that was remotely close to me finding out that there was a third type of alien present nearby was a singular announcement that there was “an intruder on the Almayer,” which is so vague that it could be LITERALLY ANYTHING.
I’m not going to act differently when I see, or rather, not see at all who the hell I am being kidnapped by and being stripped of things I possess, which I found to be quite useful.

Their reaction was justified from a human perspective, as I assume I would have hurt their ego if they WERE HUMAN, which could prompt them to fire a gun at me, but not from a Yautja/PHC perspective.
I WAS being an asshole, but i was being an asshole to someone that came up to me, choked me, and then stole (what I assumed was) my shit. Which was justified and NOT LRP.

I’m actually going to argue that what THEY did was LRP, because, I assume at least, that Yautja think of themselves very highly, that’s why they give weaker things chances to fight them on an even field. (I am not a lore guy. Correct me if I’m wrong or disregard all of this.)
I don’t know why you would care that a pathetic, broken human (I had, like, 4 fracs, and I EVEN SET MY POSE AS “crying” BEFORE ALL OF THIS), who is clearly way weaker than you and was lying defenseless on the floor, paralyzed, called you a coward for running off with something that was rightfully yours.
And even IF, we look at it from a human perspective, taking something back from someone, it would still not be a reasonable reaction to unload the most powerful weapon that they have upon you while you’re defenseless on the ground just because they called you a coward.
This does not make sense from any POV at all, unless I’m wrong about them thinking that they are way better than humans.

While (again) they do explain what their thoughts were (Discord), I still believe it is in the reasonable bounds of something a marine would do in this scenario when the timeline of the events is laid out, the facts are there, and my POV + thinking is explained.
I am not trying to pull the “well, marines are dumb, so they would do that” argument, because that’s silly, and I don’t agree with it, and I’m unsure if that’s what Smiley meant here.

I’m sorry if I repeated myself too much or it was too long. I just wanted to make everything that happened as clear as possible.
And I’m sorry if i was “too rude” to the predator in question, i was trying to keep as civil as I could and tried to keep the RP at max, and it wasn’t my intent to make them think i was being LRP.

Though I agree Smiley should have killed you, but the use of dishonourable weapons in this case was not required, therefore I have issued them with a warning due to their clean record.
