There's no point in playing survivor anymore

Recently, I’ve noticed that landing sites are gatekeeped from survivors with some purple lean gas thing for… Whatever reason? Yes I know the issue is survivors use the LZs as holds so they can survive and Xenomorphs can’t weed. But exactly WHY is that an issue?

There’s no significant impact survivors have on the round, when marines arrive its done and over they did it, survivors become a roleplay role.

So my question is why is this change necessary to just add more favoritism to the Xenomorph side? It’s purely optional for Xenos to capture or kill survivors and there’s risk and reward. Survivors do not have any reward for the risk.

All I ask really is to revert this stupid change and have an indepth look at what changes can be beneficial for the survivor role besides doing the lamest shit ever and babygate LZ holds. This is not the way.

The point of survivor was always to survive to then RP? Or even better, play as an objectively better version of a role (cough* cough* surv researcher)?

If you mix all the vials groundside into a cocktail and drink it right before the aliens get you, there’s a good chance one of the properties in that soup is neurocryogenic and you will last 15 minutes before going perma.

LZ holds were way overused, every round on most maps would be survs sitting in LZ where xenos can’t weed for OOC reasons since survs “knew” marines would arrive. If marines didn’t arrive in time to greet the alive survs, they’d usually arrive in time to revive them.

It encouraged xenos and specifically T3’s to be in LZ while marines landing because “survs were there, leading to instant sieges.

It was boring and not fun for anyone, as any non-LZ area you suggested as surv would get denied by the team because why would you sit in an area that couldn’t be weeded when you could use OOC knowledge to know that xenos can’t weed in LZ.

Surviving as surv should take effort and skill, not using meta strats

It was nerfed since 90% of LZ holds survived, or died right before marines arrived so they basicly survived as well. Accompany the fact that the only way to bust those holds were either

  1. Drone rushes (50/50 of capping/killing a surv, and dying yourself)
  2. Waiting for T3, which makes it so 90% of the hive AFKs in hive to reach T3 first.

LZ holds were a bane to any fun had with fighting survs. It made xenoes just not want to bother, same with the secure hold on LZ1.

And while we are here, let the xenoes weed any non-gassed tile now. There is no reason NOT to do it anymore, as you can’t even weed close to the LZ.

Whilst the change has not 100% eliminated near-LZ holds, such as the northern LZ1 hold on Big Red, however it does now force survivors to setup in areas that are either on, or need, weedable locations. Essentially, survivors cannot typically rely on having huge zones of non-weedable terrain to act as a natural barrier now.

People care too much about their precious TDM it seems. This is how roleplay dies

If you want survivors to die so much make it so xenos can weed LZs then restrictions are in action when marines land.

People care about having fun, instant fob sieges and LZ holds are boring. If you are desperate to survive, find a good hiding place, there are plenty of areas that are rarely checked by xenos, especially with meta’ing being enforced more now

So when the whole hive is in a weeded LZ every round killing the survs, how will admins enforce the punishments when marines land during this

What punishment?

Locker hiding main:

Also did you really forget that Xenos have wall hacks and night vision? There isn’t a god damn place you can hide because a runner will find you.

I once hid in some tall grass on LV, you know what happened? xenos found me instantly because they saw through the bushes and saw me resting in the grass.

You can’t hide from xenos.

Its “meta” to check every single locker

Its “meta” for runners or some xeno caste to sit their lazy ass at both LZs to determine where marines landing

Its “meta” metatmetametametametametametamtea

Rule 6 for being in LZ during marine landing and the other for attacking dropship before second drop.

Almost 100% of cases I saw of marines dropping while xenos were in FOB led to either mass xeno death or mass marine death with xenos attacking the marines as they stepped out of the dropship, with admins getting involved with a few of these

If you encourage xenos to be in LZ before marines can set up a fob, you get instant fob sieges. It’s how it is and it’s boring, no one likes instant fob sieges.

Survivors aren’t supposed to survive every time, in the movie there was only a single survivor despite a huge amount of built fortifications after the hive had started replicating. There was evidence they killed a few xenos but at most, the final non-locker hiding surv got capped ~24 hours before marines landed.

When you play surv, you’re taking the risk that you aren’t going to win 100% of the time, and in fact, may even have a harder time of surviving til marines land. Crazy right?

Yeah but there’s also the LZ gas.

The LZ gas is to keep survs and xenos out of LZ before marines land. This thread is saying to revert the changes and to let survs and xenos back into LZ so they can camp it almost every round like they did before
