thespy24574 - Synthetic Application

It wasn’t a vote Andy… A councilor said it was deep but canon lore, you’re Almayer’s CO…
Also he’s one of my peers and he no doubt can get proficient at whatever mechanics he decides to learn aside from having been let in in the whitelist most involved with the playerbase. I’ve seen him countless times as CO or in specialist positions. Good luck!!

huh, always thought it was a vote. Regardless my fact stands, just disregard the unofficial vote thing I suppose .

Regardless thanks for the support, I do have great hope for this application to succeed.

Clarify your last combat scenario. Example XO is telling you to give coordinates to a mortar to blast behind some resin walls that have been stalling a marine advance or to give a laser for CAS to do it. What is your response?

I would notify the XO that acquiring coords the coordinates that he requested would go against my programming, and would suggest asking an RTO, SL or anyone else with rangefinder/laser Designators due to the fact getting the coords or lazing would go against my programming with risking potential harm to the marines.

Hi thespy24574 and thanks for your interest in the Synthetic Whitelist!

On review of your story, we found that your quirk was OK. I think you can do much better than what’s here and make your quirk more indepth, but it is acceptable.

The story illustrated your quirk but did so almost too much. For example, “get your helmet on and calm down!” “a good sprints length away!” are good methods to use your quirk. “for the love of the sport” and “HOT DOGS!” are also mostly okay - albeit they replace expletives, its just a little out of the ordinary. But “put some tree Resin on it” is just too far from normal speech where it stresses your quirk. In this case, we recommend you tone down this side of the quirk but keep the former 2. There were also some weird capitalization errors in your story such as “Tree Resin” or “titanium Core”.

Your experience answers were concise and you guaranteed your experience, but further elaboration would have been better as well as recommended. Tell us what makes the role fun for you, or what you do specifically.

The combat answers are accurate but the last one was pretty unnecessary. It doesn’t exactly have to do with combat in your scenario and you just said “he personally disagrees with maybe” but the question ehre is asking “what scenarios can you perform combat in?”. Furthermore your answer to Katskan was incorrect on this question where you stated that lasing mortar coordinates would be against your programming, as this would become the XO’s responsibility for ordering you. Refusing the lawful order to gather coordinates could be far worse in your programming.

The vouches on this application are nice, and we agree with the sentiment that you have shown improvement on the RP and even mechanical points. That being said, during our observations, we felt that your behavior in support roles was very aggressive and at times nonsensical based on your role(ie, Corpsman) and tactical orientation.

Making an overall review of your previous and current status with applications, behavior and gameplay, we feel that it is too abrupt to accept you in the current state. This conclusion was complicated and also unprecedented, however, we ultimately feel that your gameplay and behavior does not coincide with the spirit of Synthetic. When it came time to ask the question of “Should this application serve as a model for those applying in the future?”, the answer was in the negative. We believe this is a combination of factors with back-to-back applications and meeting, yet not expanding and improving on feedback given.

We hope that by mandating an additional month on your reapplication time(3/4/24), you will have time to refine and complete an application of significantly higher quality and your gameplay will be within the spirit of what we are seeking for in a Synthetic. Please don’t rush the application cycles, as multiple applications in succession without significant improvement or rework may seriously detriment the overall quality and impression perceived. We’d like to see you use this as an opportunity to craft something spectacular, far above the minimum which will make people seriously impressed and help set the standard. Best of luck in the future
