Before wearing some decoration objects was broken by some update, when you’re wearing a stethoscope on your uniform as a decoration, you can actually still use it! You just need to examine someone while next to them and have torso targeted, and the examine box that pops up in the chat log, it has a little button to ‘Use Stethoscope’ to check peoples organs. Really useful!

It took me about 1200 human hours to discover you can sit or buckle or vault over things by pressing MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON instead of click-dragging. I try to teach that to people whenever possible, but so many still don’t know and it shows when they fight over dropship seats.
Here’s a few more useful ones:
- Middle click any storage medium to open its inventory, even if it’s set to automatically draw items on click
- Alt-click any storage medium to draw the last item directly from it
- Setting the hotkey called something like “Activate in other hand” is the most convenient way to do many things requiring multiple items quickly–fast reloads and unloads; welding rods into sheets; stuffing an item into a held object’s inventory; opening item inventories like flare boxes; igniting cigarettes or burning sensitive papers; transferring/mixing liquids from one handheld container to another
There are a lot of hidden quality of life features in the game just waiting to be discovered or taught.

Same man.
Putting a flask into a mixer and going over its 60u limit with grinding turns it into a large 120u beaker.
Do not ask me why this is so.
