I feel like everyone has noticed that hvh rounds have gradually started happening less and less frequently to the point where it feels like the project has just been forgotten. This really saddens me as I really loved everything about it from the hvh gameplay, the rp interactions between players of different factions and the UPP themselves. If the staff who used to handle the events (cough cough steelpoint) are no longer able to, or are just simply not interested, could other admins be taught how to run them?

Make it so that randomly, instead of xenos, there’s CLF that marines must kill.
This will make xenos players angry.

TBH every HvH round has basically become a moderation nightmare. I remember the UPP santa round they had to delay the round end for mass EORG and general mass griefing (because magdumping the reviveable body is, infact, grief)
also impossible to make even remotely balanced.

Give Warfan back admin and we can have fun HvH events again.
But yeah Steelpoint is the only admin willing to run HvH events for some reason, not sure why, they can be fun if done right.
Meh balance doesn’t matter really, there’s been some fun rounds regardless.

Or if you just want UPP, maybe a 2% chance that marines are replaced with UPP, and the UPP fights the xenos.

If it was made rare, it would still mostly be colonial marines, but you’d get the occasional special round where you’re Russian.

HvH would be way better if bullets did 25% damage and dead people took no additional damage once down even if mag dumped.

the only thing i remember about a hvh round is that i magdumped someone with ap ammo and it didnt do anything to em because apperantly ap ammo gets nerfed in hvh and there’s nowhere in game that explains this to you

I’d say “Colonial Marines” refers to the setting more than anything else, which the UPP certainly doesn’t contradict

Nowadays, HvH does not require much setup by admins to run, albeit there are just enough parts that still require a admins attention that it can’t be left on full autopilot.
Personally, HvH really needs a dedicated game play revision by someone with both the gamesense and coding skills (and the time). The current balance iteration of HvH is in a better place than it was before all the sweeping changes, however it still feels like a patchwork, and not a gamemode that can stand on its own legs.
The issue really comes down to finding someone, or someone’s, to dedicate this effort for a gamemode that will likely forever remain a admin only event. At least making another ERT faction comes with it being automatically thrown in the ERT pool, this will be rare.
