What are you reporting?:

Enforcement Action Taken

Description of the incident:

Fairly straightforward. The captain said “rizz” over the radio, and my SL said they would decapitate the captain if they used the word “rizz” again. I jokingly started to run through a list of words the SL might hate to see if they’re “banned”. Mostly zoomer brainrot.

Steelpoint pinged me and asked me to dial it back, which is fine. It’s a bit LRP, so I’ll gladly cop to LRP if my actions meet that standard (I don’t think they do given some of the other shit that happens on the server, but that’s for admins to decide). But during my interaction with Steelpoint it becomes clear that what’s actually being talked about is my use of the word “banned”. Steelpoint took it to mean I was talking about “meta-concepts like being banned in-game”.

Steelpoint also misquoted me in their communication to justify the note. They say I used the phrase “am i going to be banned for using a word” but what I actually said, and to my eyes is distinctly different is “is this word [skibidi, in this case] banned?”

Whether this is an issue or not, I’m not entirely sure, but the communication from Steelpoint in the early parts of the note process was also very poor. I assumed I was being pinged for the use of the meme words/phrases, which I take happily, but after the note is applied it’s made clear that what I’m being noted over is something I didn’t do.

Banned is a generic enough word that does not necessarily refer to being banned from the game/server. I think that should be fairly obvious.

I’m asking the note be removed, or at the very least clarified. It is to my read unclear on what I’m actually being noted for, and what was communicated to me as the reason for the note is something I strongly maintain I did not do. If I am being noted for LRP, please make that clear so I can report the other players who joined in and arguably did worse.

I don’t want any action taken against Steelpoint (they’re still trialmin after all, they’re learning), but they should be spoken to about how they communicate their notes. It was very unclear what I was actually being noted for until after the note was applied.

Evidence:

Admin PMs with Steelpoint

Admin PM from-Steelpoint: Hey Urytion. I’m gonna ask you to tone down the low roleplay commentary.
PM to-Admins: okay.
Admin PM from-Steelpoint: Considering your past note and how brazen you were, I’ll be issuing you a Rule 2 warning.
PM to-Admins: Sure
Admin PM from-Steelpoint: Any further commentary will see bans being issued. Going around shouting ‘is skibbidi banned’ is just cringe. Don’t do it again, this is a very light warning considering.
PM to-Admins: Shouting? Saying it once? Come on mate. I’ll cop the note, but seriously?
You have been noted by Steelpoint.
The note is : Warning | Rule 2 | “So Rizz is banned… what about skibidi?”. Issued a warning due to prior note. Borderline ban case, emphasized to not do this to player in the future.
Admin PM from-Steelpoint: You don’t go around talking about meta-concepts like being banned in-game. At all. Don’t do it, this is a very light warning.
PM to-Admins: …I wasn’t talking about the meta concept of banning. SL threatened to decap the captain over the use of the word rizz.
Admin PM from-Steelpoint: Why would a marine say the word ‘am i going to be banned for using a word’? its no-roleplay. I’ll be leaving the issue as a warning, don’t do anything similar again. If you wanted to mean it in a IC manner, use beheaded instead of banned. Don’t try to obfusciate the point.

Hello.

It was the combination of your low roleplay commentary and that you were speaking in a seemingly OOC manner regarding how certain words might get you banned. I did not believe there was any in character way you could spin that kind of sentencing, and your arguments felt akin to a post-facto justification on shaky ground.

I issued a warning considering your prior note, and stressed to you to refrain from similar no/low roleplay commentary.

Not once did I say would this get ME banned. I asked if it is banned.

If I say IC “Are shotguns banned?” is that an OOC violation?

The note said you were warned for LRP. Your evidence shows that what you were saying was, in fact, LRP.
