A native of Marseille, Étienne Moreau served with distinction in the French Foreign Legion, where he developed his combat prowess and survival skills in some of the harshest environments on Earth. Known for his large frame, quick reflexes, and sharp tactical mind, he earned the affectionate nickname “Petit” from his comrades. The name stuck as a term of respect, contrasting his large frame with this obvious nickname.

2167 - Receives copious amounts of training as a Staff Sergeant, Zero-G, Breaching and Demolitions, Negotiations and Diplomancy (in prep for officer training), Recon and Stealth, Survival and Evasion, etc.

2168 - Chosen as a ‘marine’ detatchment for the independent French Vessel, the SS Jeanne d’Arc.

2168 (Late) - Boarded by CANC backed pirates, who for a brief time, took the bridge of the SS Jeanne d’Arc hostage and killed two of Etienne’s men there. Eventually, after a fierce breach, the bridge staff was saved, and the pirates were either killed or arrested. Short Stories(After Action Reports)

Details 2168(Late) - Aboard the SS Jeanne d'Arc bridge, Etienne and the Captain, a French aviator named Cpt. Valentin Bachelet. The security team was on high alert as a vessel with a distress signal was passing by, drawing the independent Jeanne d'Arc in close. As Etienne and 7 of his men went to the armory to stock up, two of his men stayed on the bridge to keep an eye on the situation developing there; eventually a team of pirates had breached through the vessels exterior into the Bridge and disorientated everyone with flash grenades.

Two of the security team were shot instantly afterwards, as well as the Captain(though he survived). Cpl. Éloi Bélanger (FFL) was instantly killed, his partner on the bridge, Leg. Paulin Beauchamp was shot in the neck and wounded but survived until Etienne and the breach team arrived. The rest of the bridge staff were taken hostage as the pirates called for backup from a nearby pirate base. Generally, they would just kill everyone. steal the ship and be off, but it seems they wanted more money this time than just the ship, perhaps as it was an independent French vessel with little military hardware compared to that of a UA or 3WE vessel.

Regardless, Soon after shots rang out, klaxons blared across the vessel as the security team was prepped with their Electostatic pistols, shotguns and flashbangs, they stacked up on the bridge, led by SSGT. Etienne himself in the front of the stack. After getting access to the bridge cameras and seeing the situation, they deemed it necessary to breach, and did so with speed and violence of action to try to overwhelm the pirates without more losses. Flashbangs were thrown just as the doors were hacked open.

The first two pirates had their guns trained on the door, but the flashbangs disoriented them. The security team swiftly took them down, leaving them convulsing in their own blood.

A third pirate, rifling through the captain’s safe, spun around at the sound of the detonations, twin Uzis in hand. Before they could fire, Etienne put a charged shot through their eye with his Electroshock pistol, killing them instantly.

The last two pirates turned their weapons on the hostages. One was wounded and stunned by Electroshock rounds, while the other was blown apart by the security team’s shock-shotguns.

With the pirates neutralized, the crew rushed to treat the wounded and called for aid from the nearest military vessel, leaving the nearby pirate base for another time. (A story for another day.)

Thanks to the rapid execution of the breach, none of the six bridge crew or the eight-man security team sustained injuries. In recognition of their heroics, the surviving security officers were awarded a French commemorative medal inscribed SS Jeanne d’Arc. To this day, Etienne still wears the medal alongside his Green FFL beret while serving in the USCM.
