Biographical Summary
Corporal Eleanor Mikhailovna Shen has served with the United States Colonial Marine Corps. for seven years, enlisting at the age of twenty. Cpl. Shen was mandated to enlist upon reaching the age of twenty as per her family’s political asylum service agreement (PASA) under the Political Refugee Integration Act.
Cpl. Shen and her immediate family sought political asylum in the United Americas due to persecution experienced in the Union of Progressive Peoples, at the time of which Cpl. Shen was still a young child. She has retained her proficiency in the Russian language, but has made no attempts to reconnect with her extended family that remains in UPP space nor shown any proclivity to disloyal to the United Americas.
In line with the aforementioned PASA, Cpl. Shen’s parents were permitted to work in their professions and remain with her until she reached the age of thirteen, after which they were assigned to a period of mandatory labour on Jackson’s Star, a Weyland-Yutani mining colony. To date, she has not been able to see her parents since. As per our most recent conversation with administrative staff on Jackson’s Star, Weyland-Yutani will approve a visitation in three-years time. Cpl. Shen has stockpiled her leave and scheduled all time-off for that period.
Conduct and Personality Remarks
Corporal Shen is a professional marine, and when assigned to support squad leadership does so in a manner that is focused on completion of orders in an efficient manner that does not compromise on the necessary comradery required for operational success.
Cpl. Shen often displays great affection and loyalty to her immediate leadership and for the senior officers of the United States Colonial Marines Corps. To date there have been no reprimands or disciplines recorded for insubordination, neglect of duty, or any other conduct-based offence.
Despite her commitment to her superiors, Cpl. Shen makes a point of refusing reassignment outside of Charlie Squad. The relationships she has built within the unit are, according to her, paramount to her combat readiness and operational efficacy. Her assigned chain of command retains the absolute right to assign, reassign, and otherwise direct her, but it should be noted one may experience backlash, albeit not so much as to rise to disobedience or obstinance.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL RELATIONS
NAME | DETAILS |
---|---|
Wu Xetian | Wu is one of the first individuals Cpl. Shen became familiar with, and is considered fondly by her. Xetian often serves as a Combat Technician or Fireteam Leader, and infuriates Cpl. Shen with her inconvenient ability to endanger herself |
Sampson Ponds | Once Captain, now Major Sampson Ponds is a recent addition to the senior leadership of the Falling Falcons. Shen served under his command on his final watch as a Captain, and holds great regard for his leadership. She’s received one medal from him. |
Phillip Staymates | Phillip is someone Cpl. Shen respects the leadership of. She has and will continue to endanger herself to attempt to prolong Staymate’s tenure as Squad Leader much to the chagrin of his suicidal tendencies. |
Alisa Markova | Alisa served as a weapons specialist under Cpl. Shen during an operation in which Cpl. Shen was serving as Acting Squad Leader. Due to numerous operational setbacks, Markova stepped up to take leadership while Cpl. Shen underwent medical care, rallying the squad and personally killing multiple targets. Cpl. Shen recommended her for a medal for this display which was awarded, Cpl. Shen has admired and trusted her competence since. |
Frank Russo | Frank Russo is a frequent face for Cpl. Shen. Serving regularly as the Charlie Squad Leader, she is comfortable and content to support him as a Fireteam Leader. She is often frustrated by his willingness to endanger himself and not take stock of the situation around him. |
Foster Hawking | 2nd Lieutenant Foster Hawking is reassuring voice for Cpl. Shen, having served as Charlie Squad’s regular overwatch officer for numerous operations. They are someone Cpl. Shen trusts to be communicative and responsive to her and her squads needs. She regards them as Charlie’s best Overwatch. |

The Company and Eleanor Shen
The Company thus far is displeased with Corporal Shen’s work. While dutiful and good at her actual role, she has a significant distrust of the Company and has been observed acting against the Company’s interests in multiple circumstances.
Her fraught relationship with us stems from her parent’s current employment, currently assigned as general laborer’s on Jackson’s Star. As per standard protocol, no external visitors are permitted on the colony, and Corporal Shen has tried and failed to visit her family illicitly. She has our sympathies.
We have approved a visitation in three-years time. It would be preferable to the Company that Corporal Shen be unable to attend this visitation.
In the event Corporal Shen’s relationship with the Company cannot be brought to an amenable level of amiableness, and she endangers the Company’s interests in a given operation or our reputation within the USMC more broadly, it would be most appropriate for the Company’s officers, agents, and executives to carefully consider escalating to aggressive negotiations or fast-tracking her retirement.
