Why do you wish to become a Fax Responder?

Fax responder is a role that I found great enjoyment from during its initial testing phase. While I only logged around eight hours in all responder roles, I greatly enjoyed it as it is a new way to interact with people - it assists in making factions feel more real and alive, instead of just getting the occasional fax from a Weyland-Yutani director every five or so rounds, or a fax from the provost office only when someone screws up.

What do you consider the purpose of this role?

Overall, it is to take the burden of responding to faxes off of the staff team and in the case of the High Command and Provost, those roles are primarily to keep their related departments accountable as well as answer in-character questions and concerns. In the case of the Weyland-Yutani and Press responders, their primary responsibilities is to ensure their factions personnel have something to do and someone to keep them in line.
In addition to the listed reasons, I also firmly believe that faxes can be an amazing tool for roleplay and learning, as I have recently experienced during a Senior Enlisted Advisor round.

When would you consider it appropriate to use your phone?

Almost never. During the initial testing period for the role, I never deemed it required to use the phone. The only situation I could think of is if an appeal has been accepted, but the military police are proceeding with an execution. In this case, I would be sure to send an adminhelp beforehand to both inform them of the situation and inform them of the actions I am taking in-character to attempt to prevent it.

If playing WY Responder, what objectives do you consider within your power to give the CL?

Non-antagonistic objectives which encourage roleplay - a few ones that spring to mind are: ask the Research team to write a brief summary on their work during the operation, interview survivors, report on the status of the colony and its blackout, recover corporate assets (corpses, items of interest), take a photo of a live xenomorph.
I would ensure not to give objectives that would negatively inhibit the marines in any way.

If playing Press Responder, what objectives do you consider within your power to give the CC?

I would first gauge what they are doing with the round, if they are primarily running around with a video camera, I would ask them to attempt to record certain things - like a Queen screeching, or a marine engaging with a xenomorph. If they are primarily writing articles and taking photographs, I would ask them to perform interviews with people, or write an article on a broad subject.
