Disclaimer: All of these are mostly improvements to benefit the Free Press Responder, though I believe that the way I propose to go about this benefits both roles.
First: A notification to the CC that a free press responder is awake. Ideally, this will incentivize people who want to try to write newspaper articles but feel that no one will read them to send them.
Second: The portable fax machine can receive faxes when it’s not deployed, however, it cannot print or send faxes when not deployed [i.e. a Free Press Responder can send faxes to it but they won’t be printed until it is deployed, probably with some notification that it has happened.]
Third: This idea is kind of out there, but splitting CC into two roles: A newspaper reporter and a TV reporter. The TV reporter more-or-less is the role as currently played: They get a broadcasting camera and the gear they nominally get, but they don’t get a portable fax machine. The Newspaper Reporter gets the portable fax machine but not the camera. Additionally, they both have a new Free Press radio channel to communicate with each other.
Intended result is that the Free Press responder gets more chances to interact with (one of) the Combat Correspondent(s), thus making both roles more fun and engaging. Thoughts?
