Description of the incident:
So I have missed the start of the round by a couple of seconds, and decided to join as a researcher. The round barely even started (happened before brief, marines were gearing up). As soon as I spawned near cryopod I tossed my researcher uniform near it and went into briefing room to grab some hot sauce (might be required for some chems). I want to add that this has been my roundstart routine as a scientist for over a year. However halfway through the briefing I’ve noticed that certain bug from the last round persisted into this current round. During the previous round everyone stepping into the CL’s private room were having their game crash, happened to me twice (drone), to CL himself, some warrior and spitter during hijack part of the round. The bug that persisted was: all the on-screen text being crossed, underlined and italicized at the same time, which I find to be annoying. So during my usual walk to briefing to get some hot sauce from the table, I’ve climbed the table (one meant for Alpha squad) near ColMarTech Food Vendors. My character was practically naked during that. I’ve pressed “ESC” to open menu and write admin or mentor help message to help me deal with that text bug. I think there was one SG staring at me. Right this moment I’ve been interrupted, contacted by the staff member asking me why I was lying naked on the briefing table as a researcher. I didn’t really had any good reason aside from what I’ve mentioned before in this message, so I’ve answered something dumb like “to relax”, or “to chill a bit”. Immediately I asked the same staff member to help me fix my issue with on-screen text and even noted how well-timed their appearance was, as I was just about to ask for help anyway. I was told to reopen the game (which I was going to do in case I wouldn’t get the reply anytime soon). After re-opening the game, the text bug was gone and I went to research to get dressed up and geared properly. I want to add that this whole situation with me lying on the briefing table while my character was naked lasted for about 20 seconds. After I walked into research part of the ship, I’ve got a new admin note added (I will attach it in the “Evidence” part of the report). The reason why I am always tossing my research uniform at the start of the round is because I don’t really like the way it looks, and always wear scrubs from Medical Equipment Rack located in the research part of the ship. The reason I decided to climb on the table, well there’s none really, just something funny to do while contacting staff to help me fix my issue with text. Again this all happened quite fast. I have around 15 admin notes currently for doing some dumb and/or forbidden stuff, some of them came as a result of my gaming habits like using netspeech, or satisfying my curiosity by figuring out whether huggers can push closed boxes around (they can, but shouldn’t, especially if it is a supply box dropped by the req in the middle of a round). I agree or at least see where the staff is coming from with every note I’ve received so far, except for the last one I’m objecting here with this report. This one, however, feels rather forced and really unnecessary for something rather trivial, at least it seems so to me, which is why I’m writing this report, because I believe that there is a chance to get this note removed.
Climbing the briefing table while naked as a researcher on start of the round didn’t seemed like anything attention worthy and something, at least from my observations, well within the general “feel” of the server (I think I saw people doing, in my opinion, worse things and not being punished or warned). That being said, I will understand if you decide to keep this note. If staff members are going to add notes for this type of behaviour more frequently in order to encourage players to roleplay more seriously, I’m ready to start reporting players to staff, if I notice them doing something as OOC as climbing the table and lying down on it while naked during start of the round.
