    PSYCHOLOGICAL READ-UP
Conducted by: Dr. Ilara Nemec, W-Y Psych Evaluation Unit
    Last Evaluation: 2181.02.22
    Clearance: RED

*Summary:
Dr. Okafor presents as highly intelligent, pragmatic, and deeply curious—traits common in advanced xenobiological researchers, even our competitors at Bionational. Exhibits calm demeanor even under pressure, often preferring logic over emotion, though recent assignments have slightly degraded empathic response thresholds (within acceptable tolerance) Still tends to deliver intriguing results. -Dr.Ilara Nemec (Supported by Exec. Yasuke Takahiro)

Strengths:

  • Exceptional focus and memory retention
  • High tolerance for isolation
  • Displays low fear reaction to biothreats

Potential Concerns:

  • Occasional bouts of insomnia and OCD-like episodes. Recommended to keep stress low, has a therapist/psychologist on call if needed. For the Company, keep taskings low but vigorous, Dr.Okafor hates busywork, he notes he wasted a few years teaching what he called ‘literal junk’ at Geholgod, but that was due to the years curriculum as he puts it.
  • Possible overreliance on synthetic assistant Apollo as a social/emotional anchor, prefers his company over other humans sometimes. Dr.Okafor notes it is mainly due to the nature of his work and not any social ineptitude or avoidance (Though he is generally introverted.)

Evaluation Status:
Stable – Fit for continued deployment.

Directive: PaleoGenesis-19

World Designation: Erebus-7 (WY-Catalog ID: ERB-7-112X)

Location: Perseus Veil – Sector 13B, Frontier Expanse

Classification: Frontier-class Terrestrial (Black-Zone Access – Level RED)

W-Y Stakeholder Division: Bioweapons & Xenosciences

Discovered via long-range star map correlation during an analysis of recovered Engineer relics discovered across Earth, Erebus-7 is a cold, windswept planet locked in a slow axial rotation. The dark side houses immense subglacial cave networks, which conceal structures far older than recorded human or Engineer habitation records—sparking high-level interest from the Company. Dr. Okafor was sent to investigate, along with his Platinum Edition Reissue of the Walter Series, named Apollo, his lab assistant, specializing in Xenoethnomusicology

Dr. Okafor conducted a 4-month on-site research operation in 2178, leading a specialized containment and excavation team under W-Y mandate Directive: PaleoGenesis-19. (To be continued)

Dr Okafor(2179): Stone tablets found in archaeological ruins on remote worlds such as Erebus-7 suggest the Engineers were masterful genetic manipulators who spanned the stars, creating life in their own image. Strangely enough, after this, they seemingly turned against their creations on Earth and damned them, leaving them to wonder where they went for hundreds, if not thousands of years. (This can be seen in cultures across the world, present in the Shaw and Holloway Archive.) Apollo suggests humanity was somehow unworthy, too imperfect, too human, to be what the Engineers wanted. We are still studying any of their locations across the stars to make sense of it all. Murals seem to hold a specific importance to the Engineers and are a topic of our newfound studies.

One thing is for known for now, they were masterful genetic manipulators who seeded the stars, then seemingly died alongside most of their creations. Where did they go? Was it war? Plague? Did they destroy each other as we have before? We will have to wait and see.

Arcturus Visit

Led a small team to live among the Arcturians on Arcturus for three months. Considered a major success, with the team learning more of their medicinal, cultural and metaphysical theories.

The Company learned of more and more from the Arcturians. Although most of the research took place decades ago, in 2128 when they were first discovered. Not many have lived among them, even those at the W-Y Trade Post on the planet who mingle with the Arcturians have not lived among them. The Arcturians are a beautiful, proud, and yet extremely humble people. They are seemingly uninterested with the stars and leaving their planet, outside of asking where those who visited them before humanity went. Could these have been the Engineers as well? (To be continued)

Outbreak at EDA-4 “Thornepoint"

Weyland-Yutani Deep Research Station EDA-4 “Thornepoint”
Designation: EDA-4 colloquially known as ‘Thornpoint’ for the man-eating vines that grow on the jungle world below.
Type: Isolated Containment & Pathogen Study Facility
Location: Outer Rim, Dionysus Expanse, on the edge of W-Y frontier space.

While Dr. Okafor(A senior researcher at the time) was researching the Arcturian Klerhaige, a normally sexually transmitted disease, which popped up after Humans and Arcturians had started ‘mingling’. Unfortunately, the station was experimenting on if there was any need to worry about weaponizing the disease from rival Corporations. Disastrously, due to an error that let a team of Corporate saboteurs aboard, the station experienced an outbreak in 2172. (To be continued.)

Dude, I don’t want to be rude or anything, it’s good writing, but you have a habit of making flawless characters who overachieve. I don’t know if that’s what you’re going for, but maybe you should try to include some nuance. I mean, come on. He’s top of his class in top secret research programs just because he’s that good?

I mean I made him stupid enough to need a Synth research assistant(Apollo), and most of what he says about things like the Engineers are guesses (outside of some things from the RPG), I really would only say the two W-Y chars I have are overachievers(out of like 6 I have), but I do agree somewhat especially for this guy, what ideas do you have to add ‘nuance’ to him?

And the top of his class thing is really only there to serve as a reason for him to get scooped up by W-Y, it’s not like W-Y is gonna be looking for C level chumps for its various Divisions. Its not to show “oh wow look how amazing and smart I am”(which also doesn’t matter for RP in the first place), but I’d love to hear your ideas around it because I’m not a great writer, thanks!

I dont like commenting on dossiers because i think it ruins the integrity of the art, so sorry in advance :c

My thoughts are my own but i think any nuances Okafor would run into would be the sort that are off-dossier; personality-type issues. Okafor seems believably academic, though.

You probably didn’t intend it but i’ll toss you this: double docs, though rare, certainly exist (my chair is one). generally in academic settings, getting all degrees from one university isn’t looked upon well, and the one of the only places that gives credit in-kind to that is going to be…the university you graduated from. so being appointed a lecturer instead of prof at his alma mater is extremely on-the-nose. maybe that’s why he moved to more industrial application. maybe he got tired of playing academic games, or it bothers him that he wasn’t recognized more then for his expertise (just ideas). teaching facs are some of the most overachieving yet overtaxed people i know. But nobody mentions those things on their P&T packages lol. a further diary or psychological dossier could offer you a chance to explore those nuances more fully, but i think this one already tells a cool story.

Plus xenoethonologist is an epic job title, i can’t wait for it to be real :alien: your character reminds me a lot of one of my favorite professors from undergrad. who was technically a sociologist but had a wide scope and handle on scientific ethics and philosophy. people like this certainly exist!

curious about being an okafor from kenya; is he multinational/has one parent who’s igbo and one who isn’t? could also make for an interesting personal section here to flesh him out more.

Hey no worries, it’s totally fine, I think this is one of my more WIP/divisive character sheets(especially since it includes Engineer stuff) so its totally fine to me to have feedback, and especially since I’m not the most experienced in the real life world of Academia. I’m glad it is at least believable. I may end up changing his Doctorates and such around but I mainly based them on Dr.Shaw (who has I believe 2-3 doctorates and a few minors, basically, I swapped some of her stuff around for a more bio-weapons focused scientist with an interest in the Engineers.)

I don’t think I’ve necessarily developed his family yet (as in his mother and father), outside of them being a semi-renowned family of doctors and scientists (I wanted him to sorta come from nerds lol.) But I could play around with that a multi-national idea as well, we’ll see, probably since he has 3WE ties. Maybe his Mother was a Doctor from Kenya/Nigeria and his Father x y z from the UK, etc etc.

I’ve played him for 3-4 rounds, and he’s fun especially since I can wear a lab coat with a W-Y patch on it and do some RP that way, also nerding it up with the Researchers if they aren’t busy. But as you say, it’ll be fun when they really exist. :alien_monster:

I think something that would help would be my Arcturus Diary(I did brainstorm he has a native girlfriend there, so that will probably be a thing.) and I’ll probably do a more basic psychological read up with some flaws. (Thinking something like OCD or something like that, stuff that could be relevant to the Company and believable to a scientist type char. Because as you said other flaws may be off Dossier, but I’ll try to add some depth where possible.) And probably also a more broad diary/writeup thing to sorta explain more about him before that Arcturus Diary. Idk if I can mention somehow that his Synth assistant Apollo will technically kill him if he locates Xenos, but, we’ll maybe get to that another day?

If you have any more ideas I’d love to hear them. It’s helped me work out a bit more of his character. Thanks!

I think it would be better to be less on-the-nose about bioweapons and secret projects. Even though it’s a dossier, it feels a little blunt to just put it there in the open without exposition. Also, when it comes to W-Y, even though I think it’s a little bit of an overdone trope, I suspect it would have less to do with meritocracy and more about being the right kind of person, someone with discretion and honestly probably no public existence if he’s a top secret researcher. It would be better to go for either the bioweapons or the archeology instead of both.

How would I be less on-the-nose about Bioweapons(a known Division even outside of W-Y, Ripley knows them by name in Alien) and Secret Projects(Which he isn’t in right now) in a W-Y Dossier? This isn’t even available to the USCM, so that’s why it’s got all this crazy info on it. That bits sorta confusing to me, and what do you mean without exposition, is this all not exposition or do you mean something more specific? (Again, I’m not a great writer, sorry!)

But to refocus, I made him have a side interest in the Engineers due to the weaponizing potential of Chemical A0-3959X.91 – 15 (Black Goo), as well as the Engineers being the only true Aliens we know of in the Alien universe(Which was likely also part of his study/teaching at Gelhegod Institute). But as you likely know, they can drop black goo and aerosolize it and it will wipe a world out if enough is dropped. (Which W-Y has tested out a few times.), but point being I didn’t just throw it in there as a bonus, the Engineers relate to humanities origins which he is interested in from a science standpoint, but from a Company standpoint, the Company wants the Black Goo, which perfectly relates back to the Bio-weapons Division I think.

I could end up changing that up, but I honestly don’t think I will. And keep in mind, a lot of this info will never be said in-game, because I will never tell some rando non-W-Y goon about all this.

But again you guys have helped me, so thanks, I will try to develop some more depth with the further writing I do for him, which should help expand his backstory and motivations.

Ah, I’m not super familiar with the Aliens lore if I’m being honest with you so that really is quite surprising to me. What I meant by the lack of exposition was for the fact that it’s just mentioned in vacuum in the basic facts at the start of the dossier, which I guess caught me off-guard for aforementioned reason.

Honestly, I can see the link between the black goo, engineers, and bioweapons, but nevertheless it could potentially be written such that he just researches it instead of having discovered it himself and then went on to research it himself as well. Of course, it’s not out of the question, but like I say too many concepts and achievements can get a bit tiresome to read.

Ah I gotcha, this is sorta heavily tied into the lore of Prometheus/Covenant and the newer RPGs. (I’m a lore nerd as you can see.)

He didn’t discover the Black Goo, Engineers, anything like that, the things he did discover were newer tablets and inscriptions in the Frontier on Erebus-7, but I haven’t expanded upon that just yet obviously.

The Prometheus expedition was almost a century ago at this point in the lore(2091-2094) and it is currently 2182 in the CM lore. To give you a basic TLDR of what happened, Dr. Shaw and Dr. Holloway (mentioned in the archive section and elsewhere on my Dossier) found star maps on Earth that led to a world out in space, which had engineer stuff on it. It is also where Sir Peter Weyland dies at the hand of an Engineer in search of eternal life. David (the Synth) also experiments on creating Xenomorph like aliens, and sends this information to W-Y. W-Y also raids his lab fully in 2117 and gets the rest of his research that way as David had left the planet by then.

Dr.Okafor is almost a century late to the party, and one of probably hundreds if not thousands of Bio-weapons researchers for W-Y, and while W-Y already does know about the Black Goo, they don’t have all they need nor do they have a shit-ton of steatite ampules which they need for the Bioweapons program if they want to try to replicate the weapon side of black goo like the Engineers had. He is only continuing the research left behind by Dr.Shaw and Holloway on that doomed expedition in 2091. Maybe I need to get that idea across better (Maybe I’ll try to show more of that in his visit to Arcturus). I will keep in mind his accolades as well, but I really don’t think it’s too crazy right now.

If you are curious about the lore you can watch the Prometheus / Covenant movies, read the wikis (USCSS Prometheus | Xenopedia | Fandom or USCSS Covenant | Xenopedia | Fandom)

You can also watch this to see why W-Y would want it as a weapon. (Spoilers for Prom/Covenant) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55dMVUHHI3E featuring two of my favorite Synths, Walter and David.
