Rule four

Description of the incident:

Right I’ll try use a few words to say what happened.

MP John Killgore came and asked me if I knew where a fellow MT was, I said no then. After that bit of dialogue, he took me up and showed me where a dismantled wall was in the maintenance hall outside the Liaisons office. Where a wall into the shower had been dismantled. So, we head in we talk, the CL’s bodyguard has me check the doors, and one is pointed out as broken to me. So then I’m finally asked to fix the wall in the shower. I go back, I see it’s being fixed by my fellow Techie.

Finally, I go something along the lines of hey, let me fix this door, I proceed to dismantle it, replace it and make it accessible for the liaison and her guard. At which point the Liaison runs past and pulls out her pistol and starts shooting at the people in her shower, in which I notice she also shooting the MP so I disarm her once, before I’m then shot by the liaisons guard with a VP- which gives me internal bleeding.

At some point I’m subdued and cuffed and carried down into the liaisons containment cell, left in there with an untreated bleed and no radio, I eventually fall into critical condition and perish, then going perma due to the divider wall being closed. Should be noted I did ahelp, but it probably wasn’t picked up.

As the bodyguard I’ll provide my perspective, starting after he got detained. While we initially were talking and conversing with him I upon wandering upstairs see a sizable mob gathering and am promptly sprayed with drugs (This under escalation law does count as lethal escalation but is not relevant to this particular case), I retreat downstairs and the shutters are closed on the cell. Due to people continually breaking in and the CLs desire not to get caught we are unable to open it or actually check cameras to see whats going on. That said this report is broadly accurate and correct though the inability to check and treat Larry came down less to malice and more to a inability to even open it without revealing the cell. I’m not entirely certain why the CL requested larry be “detained”.

I was the MP John Kilgore in the round here is what happened from my view.

I was told that a MT Tamy Lynx breached the CLs bathroom, I found MT Westland and asked him where Lynx was, then I took him to the CLs office to fix the doors and the wall. MT Tamy Lynx came back to fix the wall after being told to and both MTs were trying to fix the CLs door. When the CE and two others ran in the office after breaching the wall again. After which the CL and Bodyguard opened fire with their stun guns. I was the only MP and was fighting three others trying to arrest them for the incident. As I was fighting the three engineers I saw MT Westland being walled inside the CLs bathroom and after which I heard the stungun, But at the time so much was going on I didnt have time to react to Westland getting trapped.

After the CE and his goons were brigged for DTGP and tresspassing, I was told by them that larry was screaming he was being kidnapped on engi comms which I didnt see, It clicked in my head that he was walled inside their office and never returned. So i went to the office and confronted the CL and several chefs and engineers were there causing a riot. The CL at this point was extremely toxic to me in game and even threatened to report me to High Command, I was one single MP trying to investigate a kidnapping and I was being screamed at and called names while also seemingly being threatened with a ahelp IC. Unfortunately I couldn’t really do anything because I would have no in game knowledge of the containment cell.

In summary the CL was angry that two other MTs were breaking into their office to steal suits, I went to get the uninvolved MT to fix it, he got grabbed in the chaos and kidnapped and left to perma in the cell. We didnt find him until an hour later. The CL was extremely toxic and rude and was clearly griefing.

The chemicals I sprayed you with were spacedrugs with traces of minbreaker toxin. Nothing harmful, it was playing into the “running a drug lab in the MST” sort of deal. I see now that the rules state that using them as a weapon is not allowed but seeing as they are harmless I thought it was OK and perhaps there’s exceptions to be made.

I only used ground up mushrooms which had some sopoforic (a sedative) after you all started shooting at us in line with what I believe was lethal force.

I was intending to have a silly scenario where we’d partner up with the CL and operate a drug business. I was completely ignored, so I decided to play a joke on them and decided that moving part of the kitchen to the CL’s bedroom and operating out of there would be a funny prank. However the plan never came to fruition or left the drawing board. We took down one or two walls to play a joke on you by locking the door to your bedroom as a retaliation for the PMC goon shadowing us in the MST kitchen for a while and refusal to speak to us on the end of the CL. As a response to being ignored in a sense.

I….kinda went to the kitchen to offer you a few suits I had snatched from the CLs wardrobe, Except I got told off and came back to the wall being broken which is where everything went to shit.

I was another MP, Harrison Walker in this round - I can add a little about John Kilgore’s account

The first call I got was from the Corporate Bodyguard about MT’s breaking the walls to the CL’s office. I headed over and saw a hole in the wall leading to the shower, and spotted the Bodyguard who told me that they saw MT Tamy Lynx running away from the scene, but also blamed the other MT’s as well, calling them something along the lines of disgusting “for stealing a woman’s clothes”. After some time, Tamy came to the brig after which I told her she could either fix the wall or face a DTGP charge.

She went and fixed the wall, and by the time I had gotten there to check it was actually repaired, someone started screaming on the radio that shots had been fired in the CL’s office, and shortly after a crowd had charged into the office demanding the release of both an MT in our brig, “John Baldo” and the other MT, Larry, who I had been informed was screaming on the radio about being kidnapped, which I also must have missed. By this point, someone in the crowd began to thermite another wall open and they all poured in and charged for the CL’s downstairs cell. A moment later, The CMP and the other MP’s had arrived, seemingly in support of the crowd, so I left to take over watching the brig while the CMP with another MP in tow demanded the CL show him where they hid Larry. From what I saw and heard before the CMP arrived, at no point was is made clear from either side that Larry had been shot and was dying despite a couple of nurses showing up.

I had very little interaction with the CL in this round, so I can’t speak much for their character, but I personally felt the Bodyguard was trying to make the best out of the CL’s terrible decision-making after the initial break-in.

Hey there, Zahn Vitrez on MST Cornelius Bjorgenson for this round. As soon as I woke up, the other chef, I forget who it was at this time told me to ‘find a rat so we can rat bomb the cl’s office’ on account of some sort of… the CL not sponsoring his drug operation. I tried to get a rat from research, but they were busy actually doing their jobs, so I eventually went back to the kitchen. Several of the mt’s appeared to be in on whatever the drug operation was. they broke into the cl’s bedroom, decided to put the kitchen there. I left a note stating ‘property of waffle house.’ Some time passed when I was informed ‘the cl had taken Larry’. I went to the crew monitor and saw Larry was not showing on it, and followed the group as they broke into the cl’s office, a repeated series of scuffles ensued, during which time Larry presumably expired due to the IB. The failure of the mp’s to remove everyone from the crime may have contributed to an inability of the CL to check on their captive, however it’s pretty obvious The CL didn’t expect there to be any internal bleeding due to relatively light damage taken during the capture given conversation after the round. The time between larry’s capture, and the repeated encounters in the office, and basement was very full of people who obviously couldn’t witness the CL’s crime, and I think they were somewhat cornered into this by people trying to get them to do crap/invading their department, and Larry was unfortunately the guy who perma’d as a result, happy to answer any questions if anything comes up. (edit for clarity)

I was Tamy and just want to clarify I never broke into the liaison’s office and helped fix it because I was getting accused of doing so and fixed it again after the others deconstructed it a second time :expressionless_face:

Edit: Also I never asked for a suit from the liaison or tried getting one, and I didn’t bother to involve myself with the drug operation the others were doing and only tried to rescue the liaison’s bodyguard from getting taken by the chef close to hijack  (why do I keep getting mentioned in this mess of a situation)

I was observing post-kidnapping.

The CL and the bodyguard had in my opinion no time at all to check on Larry as they were harrassed non-stop by validhunters(Mainly a Mess Technician) that wouldn’t let the MP’s do their job. “There has to be a secret room!” and such was said while trying to napalm the walls to the cell, gassing them with drugs and then MP’s not doing anything about them really. One MP kept claiming “I’ve brigged 5 people” but I don’t really see what that has to do with ignoring the rioters that are tresspassing and assaulting the CL in her office.

Later when the CL had to have surgery the MT and a medic I believe it was killed the bodyguard and was attacking the unconscious CL on the operating table to crit? Does this even matter? Dunno, Larry had been perma for a long time when this was happening.

Not saying the CL was innocent but I do believe some leniency could be argued due to them never having the chance to remedy the situation. In my opinion the Mess Technician should be getting more flak than the CL.

well, i had to create an account just to reply to this report, i didn’t even know this forum existed for that.

Since i was the CL, I’ll give my point of view so you guys can understand what happened.

this whole situation started developing right from the beginning of the round, almost in the very first minute (or close to it). I was reading the company fax and writing one when suddenly a random MT (iI think it was Tamy) simply walked into my office asking my bodyguard for a charcoal suit, Since i was writhing a fax and it made no sense AT ALL for a corporate to just hand out their clothes, i told my bodyguard to ask her to leave.

note: as i saw here in this forum my bodyguard actually gave it to them.

That’s when things started to get worse. A few minutes later, i don’t remember exatly, but the marines hadn’t even started the operation yet or had just left, when a random doctor came into my office because the Mess Techs (chefs) were calling for me in the kitchen. When i arrived, they started calling me inside along with some MTs and the CE, and they began saying they were going to “butcher” me because i didn’t give the suit to Tamy. i simply said: “is that all? i have a lot to do.” and walked away because i really felt they were going to attack me in that room.

note: i had no idea they had some druglords gimmick or something like that.

Right after that, they invaded my office, hacked the doors, and stole things from my room. my first tought was that it had been Tamy, the Maintenance Tech, and that they were probably some kind of Group/Gang since everyone had been calling me into the kitchen as I mentioned earlier. The FIRST thing i did was report to the CMP that they had Broken in my office, while i sent my bodyguard to look for her. Meanwhile, my bodyguard reported over the radio that they had shot shotgun slugs at him and attacked him. After explaining this to the CMP about 20 times, he just answered that he’d “check it out”. Another MP who came to our office later simply said: “*If they do this again, you can shoot them, I don’t care.” (*this MP would become a huge problem later in the situation). After that, i sent a fax to the WY and brought the first security beacon to call in reinforcements (i didn’t realize there were no admins online, so no one responded).

Then, the MPs sent the MTs to my office to “fix the issue”, and since i didn’t know it hadn’t been Larry and Tamy (as they claim here on the forum), I was simply requesting their arrest - wich I was ignored. Soon after, the Chefs and the CE invaded my office again, through a hole in my bathroom wall. the MPs were telling them to stop and threatening to arrest them with their stuns, while i had already asked at least five times for them to just arrest them already. That’s when chaos broke out: MPs chasing the CE and Chefs, and me using the stun gun on the ones who stayed behind (larry and another one) as mentioned on the report. he disarmed me, they stole my stun gun, shot me and my bodyguard and ran away, exept larry, who kept fighting us and was actually winning util we finally managed to stun him and lock him in our secret room.

Note: I hadn’t noticed, but apparently someone (I think my bodyguard) shot him after being disarmed and losing the stun baton, which caused IB on him (I didn’t realize it at the time).

with him locked in the room, my idea was to use the implant that delivers shocks, to make him talk about why all this was happening and to help us catch the rest of his group. (The idea was to try and create some RP with him, make him obey orders, and go after his friends, since the MPs were basically doing nothing). Keep in mind, i did NOT know he wasn’t involved. To me, they were all part of a gang, especially since even the CE was with them.

That’s when the chefs invaded again. The door sensors alerted us, so i had to seal the secret room so they wouldn’t know Larry was there. Then the chefs started breaking holes and hacking doors until they got to the floor below us, yelling “Where’s Larry?” while spamming sprays of space drugs on us. Again I called the CMP to my office, and once he arrived, he just stood there watching us while I told him to arrest the chefs. Then the other MP showed up (the one I mentioned earlier who would be a problem), saying he had seen Larry there and that we had him. They insisted on checking my whole office, so I opened the doors, they found nothing, and even then the MP and the chefs kept saying I had Larry hidden, while I was telling everyone to leave. The CMP just kept staring and saying: “Where’s Larry?

NOTE: about the MP who tought I was toxic for yelling at him - this was all in-game, and you took it personally. I was roleplaying as a corporate, and you were simply letting them drug me and my CB while I was yelling: “Arrest them, they’re attacking us and invading!” and you just said: “We already arrested like five of them.” But all of them were still in my office next to the secret room where I was trying to hide Larry to avoid making things worse. and about the “high command” i was saying about my special services division and the marines high command… a simple FAX not a ADMIN REPORT IC. i just used bad choice of words.

That’s when I bought another security beacon to try and get some help from someone, but again no response. After the MPs ignored the situation and the chefs drugged us again, I simply told my bodyguard to shoot. He chose lethal, and I was fine with that. A shootout started, I went into IB and blood loss, and the doctor (the same one who called me to the kitchen earlier) took me to surgery, helped the chefs kill my bodyguard, and beat me unconscious.

For some reason, they then decided to steal my bodyguard’s ID and tamper with a computer that opened the secret room (wich is kinda strange for a chef to do), where Larry unfortunately had died of IB. We had no TIME or SPACE to check if he was okay or to continue any RP with him.

Another NOTE: one of the chefs told me in the ghost chat that he was actually trying to help me being loyal to the company, to you… I didn’t have any way to notice this because there was so much chaos there.

After all this, the MP arrested me while the xenos were invading the ship, and while the chefs were beating me up in the middle of the fight against the xenos. The only thing I did to defend myself was shove one of them to try and escape… in the end, everyone died.

This is my point of view: there was a CE helping a gang commit crimes, MPs who just stood there watching while I was attacked and drugged, invasions happening right in front of them and they just said they “couldn’t do anything,” and the WY reinforcements that never came (I spent 100 points from the briefcase to buy 2 security beacons, so this whole ordeal lasted a long time).

and a summary because that’s a big text:

From the very beginning of the round they were clearly trying to cause trouble, which I didn’t mind since it’s cool to have something interesting happening shipside and gave bodyguard something to do. I did everything in my power to avoid drastic measures like kidnapping someone, but nothing was resolved. Larry’s abduction was the last thing I did, and even then it was with the intention of building RP out of it - trying to make him work for us through brainwashing or something similar. I didn’t know he was dying, since during the chaos I even heard sounds of someone banging on walls (when you click with an empty hand on a wall and it makes that small noise). Nothing I said to the MPs was out of character; I had every right to complain about them since they were watching me get attacked and I even called CIC for help on the command radio, but they were busy keeping the marines alive on the colony, which I can understand.

The whole time i was thinking on ways to get RP from everything that happened, i was even waiting for points to call a lawyer team since i told the MPs I was going to SUE them and make more people join the RP wich could have been something cool if unfortunate things didn’t happen. Larry’s death was unpredicted and i didn’t have any intentions of letting him ROT there neither had any to Report the MP OOC.

that’s all.

Hi, apologies for the wait. I’ll be handling this player report tomorrow.

Hi, thank you for the report, and apologies for the delay in handling it.

Due to the exceptional time the report has been up, I will be mostly focusing on the Mess Technician and Corporate Liaison from this round. The initial VP78 shot appears to have been a negligent discharge, caused by being disarmed - so I will also not be regarding the bodyguard as having intent behind it, even if they did fire again after.

The corporate liaison should not have locked the cell with a player inside for such an egregious amount of time, even if they were not dead - and will be receiving a warning under Rule 4.

The Mess Technician, one of the main instigators to this, should not have been planning to rat bomb the CL or breaking into their office over being denied suits with minimal roleplay reasons, alongside spraying them with mindbreaker toxin with zero buildup/escalation, and will be receiving a warning under Rule 2 and Rule 4.

Report accepted.
