What brought me to cm13 originally was that it was on the hub and I’d heard about it a lot and watched videos of it, BlackPantsLegion videos of the server especially got me interested
what kept me here was the unique gameplay that I really enjoy :d

2017 i stumbled over ss13 by a mistake. Back then there was no youtube for it, no really a way to find it. I tried it any why even tho I was sure it was a virus.exe.
Got into paradise Station as assistant, walked around and someone was following me all round. I killed in self defence, well i thought it was. So my first day i got banned.
Went to cm after that, become a marine and just wander around until i found a huge ass place. Wondering what the hell this was I then got squished by a dropship. As ghost i seen a bunch of marines pointing at me and said " We need a bucket to clean this up"
My ss13 adventure was not good start. But para had something I was really liked. After some research on it on their web page. Work sim/rp/antag. I appealed for my ban and they said i would be fine if I seen the pm from staff. When you are new, there is new sounds everywhere, and reading chat when you are new is near impossible when everything is visually new to see. Want to read or do you want to see? Anywhy got appealed, Atmos was facinating/amazing made to be in a 2d game. Build a room in space and make anything you want. Repair from bombs and replica everything was possible. I was amazed., setting up power and solars. I loved it so much. Singulord getting loose, chaos.
A good long while after, i got tired of doing the same. never completed what i wanted to do because it cut short from antag roles.
So cm i went. Did I say I was tired of short rounds?
Holy hell, cm had long rounds. Hours after hours before round end. Yeah sometimes steamrolls happen, but many times over 4-6-8hours rounds. I found my new home. And since I was a aliens/pred nerd, I been here playing daily/weekly since 2017.
The endless flow of the memes i have seen. I am honestly lucky to find this gem of a game.
Gain friends, loose friends. the journey to see how cm change and still is, the laughs I had.
A round is never the same because of changes, and a round is never the same because we as humanity can’t seem to do anything right, and shockingly we find new ways to fail. People do many funny RP moments you never forget. It a fascinating game to be part of.

some dude I played wargame red dragon told me “hey did you ever heard about CM SS13?” I was like no, they showed me the game I got addicted. Shortly after that they stopped playing, I think they gave me their curse idk

Joined because Sseth and because SS13 was free (Poor college student).
Joined fulpstation. Played a lot there but I was tired of getting my RP cut short due to antags.
Joined CM13 to be robust but realized I wasn’t robust. Also barely anybody really RP’d besides squad culture.
Played a bunch of Fallout13 servers but got tired of nobody wanting to RP/Low pop
Rejoined CM13 because fuck it why not. Shoot xenos. Usually high pop. Make friends. Not a lot of RP since the game moves too fast, but whatever.

I did it for about 7 years, same ranks and all that shit, more USCM guns, vehicles and aircraft. Its good if you like a semi-FPS Aliens experience.

Ngl I still think switching everyone from backpacks to satchels was such a massive L for sprite cool-factor.
I don’t care if backpacks are identical to satchels in terms of storage size, I just want them to be usable so I can have drip, man. Though, I guess no one would even wear backpacks as PFC if the storage differences were nulled since double primaries is meta

4th January, 2015 was when one of my favorite youtubers released a video on SS13. I don’t remember much since I was 12 but I do remember downloading BYOND the same day.
I hopped on servers of my own language and started to join English servers as I got better at it. I think mid 2017 was when I got into CM13 for real, using the name of Lucia Fuchs or something like that. I’ve taken several hiatuses since then, returning mid last year from a 3 year long one.
So yeah, an youtube video from 10 years ago got me hooked up in this thing. It’s crazy that the only relatable thing between 12 year old me and 22 year old me is that we both played CM.
