what exactly does the engineering pamphlet enable you to do as rifleman?

I can’t really find up to date info on what exactly you can do with the engi pamphlet that you can’t do without

lets you build non folding metal cades and repair them iirc

The biggest boon is probably the ability to plant C4.
You can technically repair power generators, but it’s absurdly slow.
The ability to weld up comms towers as well, which is niche but clutch if the APC is intact, or you want to save your engi some time.

I personally just nab it, weld goggles, and a set of tools if I go M2C gunner, since the belt holds them. Cade welding, and moving preexisting cades around can be strong, and gives you a role when the big gun can’t be deployed. Just remember engis are walking fuel tanks if you need a refill!

It also apparently speeds up welding cades (but by tenths of a second it sounds like so basically not applicable or useful), and speeds up deployment of portable cades (I am not sure how much faster, I’ve been told it’s ~1 second but I haven’t noticed a perceptible difference when playing)

You can also buy an ES-11 Canister (I do this) for 5 points and that gives you iirc 120 fuel and takes up as much space as a flamer fuel canister. I also grab one of those dinky red welders with 5 fuel in them because you don’t need goggles to weld with those. Mostly matters for people who want extra drip on their face slots though, since welding goggles/helmet are easy to get.

If you don’t want to buy an ES-11 canister there is a single spare one on the middle deck of the current multiz almayer in one of the rooms above the cryopods. You can’t otherwise get them from anywhere besides your vendor and that one placed on the map. Req can’t buy them.

As a Rifleman, Zero Aura farming points. As a Bravo HM, all the Aura points. Build FOB as Bravo Medic cause no one else does it ? uhm.. i think so ! :index_pointing_up:   (Don’t forget to leave two spaces open for every 5x5 box you make on the ends and annoy SL to make the folding ones thehe )

It has very niche utility - for example, I use the canister because I need welding fuel to repair portable cades, which take up my back slot which means I can’t use a welder backpack.

Humiliate the rest of Bravo to pitching in. “I will heal you if you builds the wall.”
