I just wish they were 15 so you could take two of them with the m79 or take three and nothing else, or use it to round out a loadout that is just 15 points short with nothing obvious to buy. at 20 points you are spending your entire loadout to fill two pulse rifles, which does not last if you plan on actually using HEDP offensively
its because they are good the real thing you should be asking is why is the M79 so damn expensive.
its so you can go to req and get told no when you ask for them
What I do when I run M79 personally is buy 2 packets of HEDP, and ask for an M79 at req, it’s not commonly used so you’ll likely be able to get it, throw an extra packet on top and you have 9 nades to start out with, baton slugs and star shells can fill out the rest of your GL belt if req is stingy, they’re still useful as supporting tools. But if I had to guess why the price is so high i’d assume it’s due to the GL only nades already costing 15, and the throwable ones need to be pricier due to being better.
No one takes AGM-I either, so you basically have an infinite amount of incendiary grenades from req during high pop if you just ask for them.
As mentioned above, it’s for Req being greedy as an emergency option
THREE OR FOUR HEDP BEFORE DEPLOYMENT AND NOT ONE MORE!
(Honestly if GL spec doesn’t wake up during high pop I send the 25 grenade box in the frontline crate if we have that many left over after the rush)
