I’m being serious here. Out of every playerbase subgroup on Colonial Marines, Lurker mains seem to be the ones most likely to completely crash out mid-round, start ranting in xeno chat, disconnect in a rage, or just start throwing the match.
Like you’ll see a Crusher main charge into 20 Marines and die, and he’s like “gg wp”
You’ll see a Warrior main mistime a grab and get magdumped, and they’re like “mb lol”
But a Lurker misses one pounce? Instant breakdown.
Why?
Is it because the entire role is about being a fragile glass cannon? Is it the crippling expectation to solo kill every Marine squad? Is it because every patch somehow makes their life worse?
It’s because Lurker tends to be very feast or famine, and the dopamine of actually one by one wiping an entire squad’s worth of dudes trying to retrieve one poor sod who walked to the wrong spot is absolutely tremendous. Seeing your potential and knowing you’ve fucked up by sticking to a guy you’ve confirmed has a shotgun or a flamer out of stubbornness or ego instead of being doing the smart, rationale thing and switching targets can cause a lethal and disastrous crash out.
I’ve been trying to improve my mindset on Xeno since I’ve noticed I get mad a lot lately, and I hate that. I’m happy to say I’ve been much more gg wp these past few days and I think taking a step back and realizing ur taking shit too seriously can make it a lot better.
Also the ket. Any Lurker who’s solo wiping and then eating shit and crashing out HAS to be K-holing. Not me though, winners don’t do drugs.
Although i am not a lurker main, i am a runner main even if i am bad at it. But its largely due to Lurker and Runner being castes for adrenaline junkies and that’s just kind of what adrenaline does to a fellow. Simply put the caste attracts such characters and is some what of high strung roll.
Every CM player has that unhinged lurker residing deep in their mind. It’ll either come out when they finally choose to play lurker, or they’ll crash out IRL
I used to be a lurker main back when it was a hunter. I loved it. After moba i quitted 100% lurker was not for me. I simply move on.
Honestly if i was a lurker main i would feel gutted. I am not speaking for main lurkers, its just how i view on it.
How many pr changes have it had? How many Pr nerf it have had? Lots, and i mean lots, not small changes, it’s crippling changes. There have just been a new pr and honestly i pity them. If you main a caste and constantly beeing pr chased. You would start to feel iffy too. They are probably just fed up, tired. Salty.
