Why do most barrel attachments reduce damage?

I dont know about you guys, but I basically don’t use any barrel attachments other than EB or bayonet, because every other one IIRC reduces damage

For the average PFC, your only real way to secure kills is to put damage on the board, and a DPS nerf for some ballistic advantage usually isnt worth it

I’m willing to hear how I’m wrong about this, but at least stocks, sights, and foregrips don’t usually reduce your damage, just make the gun bulkier or slower

balance.

Because if it didn’t, then they would be auto picks like EB and bayo.

It’s for balancing, EB’s are must-picks for most people because it really only buffs you, and most other barrel attachments do this as well, but when you’re dampening recoil, or lessening scatter, you have to pick something else to lower, like damage, or you’re just creating another only positive modification, which isn’t good for balance. Having the ability to compensate your guns drawbacks for less damage can still be a good tradeoff. Sights are balanced due to you not taking a magharn, foregrips because you lose utility for raw gun stats, and stocks make draw time more sluggish, everything has it’s pros and cons.
