Just play Bravo SL; so few competent people want to Bravo SL that its the perfect squad to go SL if you want the actual squad experience.
It tends to have fewer numbers of people than any other squad so its more intimate instead of just a blob of people, and since they rolled Bravo and are OK with boring tasks like holding FOB, it means they tend to be willing to do boring tasks like follow an SL when they ask.
I have had quite a lot of success rolling Bravo SL and starting patrols around FOB / backline, making Bravo into one of the best backline squads, since they tend to follow you around willingly instead of wandering, and if you have a lot of game knowledge as a SL you are able to pull off decent patrols with little to no casualties since you know when to advance or retreat.
Be the change that you want to see is what im trying to say.
Bravo SL is hands down the best/most frequently open SL role to learn in. There’s a ton of experienced and new players, usually less pressure, and more logistics orientation.
Bring back the Mega FOB times when all squads stay and build 1 mega FOB then push out where needed. Then atleast a stable FOB before usually understaffed Bravo is left to defend it and sort supplies I remember Mega FOB used to be a thing before the LZ sentries got added
mega FOB makes a lot more sense than reassigning FOB duty (barring extreme mismatch of roles). It doesn’t work because marines will basically throw a fit if you ask them to stop shooting and progressing their death march but it’s a very valid strategy especially on lowpop (where it still happens)
As a SL main, I have no issue with a CO/XO swapping up the “bravo fob” meta so long as you don’t wait for brief to tell everyone this
I have seen countless XO’s say “I’m just changing it up” after doing this, when they waited to the brief to let me know as Charlie SL that I am on FOB. Great. Now my loadout is completely unprepared for FOB.
So if you want to be this change, I would suggest then just giving the SL’s a headsup in command chat “Hey Charlie SL, you’re going to be on FOB make sure you get FOB kit”.
At least one respondent here was the XO and I was a SL on the receiving end of thheir switchup, that was given by the XO at the briefing with immediate depart after. And for them to turn around in here and say SqUAd LEadErS wILl JuST CoMPlaIn is infuriating. I was that SL complaining, but I was complaining because they waited till the moment I deployed to tell me I have the wrong loadout.
