Why Is This An Exploit?

The last time I made this thread it was kind of shitposty, didn’t give context, and it was deleted; myself suspended.

I’ll try again, more seriously:

Tossing your fellow marines up a ledge feels like a natural evolution of Multi-Z. While yes it’s gamey and unrealistic, I think it’s an easy, intuitive conclusion to reach in a game like this.

There is also not much benefit to doing it, any real advantage you can gain would require coordination with other marines – which is something that should be encouraged.

I do not agree with this being ruled an exploit.

ADDENDUM: Unless the case is that we can like, fling people into the sky to break their legs? Sure. But tossing mfers up a ledge shouldn’t be considered exploiting

If im being fr fr, I enjoy the arcadeiness of it. It’s fine to have gamey stuff y’know?

IMO the way i see it Multi-z is basically another full building height, like 2-3 meters in the air if not more, it takes you a good while to climb it unless helped, and throwing a person with full gear up 3 meters in the air into a new floor just seems impossible.

And like you said, its irrelevant most of the time, and when it is relevant you bypass the multi-z climbing timer required to get into a new level without using stairs, all in all seems reasonable.

slightly unrealistic is one hell of an understatement

Beyond the simple “it bypasses the climbing cooldown” it’s also stupidly unrealistic; you, a marine in full gear, are managing to pick up the weight of another marine also in full gear and not only are you lifting them but you are throwing them not only several feet forwards but also upwards which would require a ridiculous amount of physical strength to handle both your own weight, the weight of your gear, the weight of the marine you’re throwing AND their gear on top of all that.

I agree with what has been said. Completely unrealistic. Marines are not Andre the Giant. RIP the Gentle Giant.

I have done it a few times for a laugh but yeah, its a little unrealistic.

Preds being able to do it though, or even jump up onto roofs themselves, is something they can do in movies, though I am uncertain if the team here wants that,

these are all valid posts however

i still maintain that it adds fun to the game, is rare enough that it doesn’t detract from immersion, and should stay

fun > realistic

if you want realism then aliens should die from 2-4 bullets from the MK2

Lore team has got you covered, fam. What marines are shooting in the movie are HEAP rounds, while we got soft-tip stuff and some AP that doesn’t explode after it penetrates the target.

Balanced > “fun” > realistic.

There should be a way to help marines get high up faster. For example aiming leg/feet on help intent while standing next to a climbable wall and clicking on a marine could inititate the same mechanic as with fist-bump or high-five so if that marine also does that on you, he gets to teleport onto the Z-level much faster, pretty much with no windup, as coordination on that level already takes enough time. Same with standing on higher Z-level and clicking on a marine with help intent on a lower level could give him pop-up like for being handled an item, but instead asking if he wants to get up with help.

As I commented on the removal of tossing up PR, there is already a way to tag team yourself up. If someone leans on a wall and you try to climb it, it takes less time.

I hate that this is going to be removed.

How else am I going to throw an unsuspecting PVT into a red-hue hellscape that they proceed to get lost in for an hour because they have no idea where they are?

Having to grab neck to throw makes this feature balanced and satisfying.

except this doesnt actually do anything because you will never hold it long enough to do any actual damage

you only do damage if you upgrade it one more time, after neck grab to choking. The reason its satisfying is bcus it takes a while to neck grab.

what does this even mean? it’s ““satisfying”” to… chokehold someone? what
